Your aftershocks will shock (assuming you roll the shock) most bosses, but the question is whether or not that shock will last long enough for the following aftershock to benefit.

I think you'd need to hit the boss for around 8% with a single aftershock in order for this to work. Whether or not you can do that will depend on the boss, but I think it will be possible on most of them. On the other hand, you will never hit Uber Izaro for anywhere near 8% of his life.

You will also need to pay close attention to your Earthquake hits, as if you're too fast or too slow then you'd drastically lower your damage even more so than usual.

Getting an EQ duration helm enchant will help, so long as you can get the attack speed to match it, and there is elemental effect duration on some pieces of gear. Rashkaldor's Patience is actually a pretty good amulet if you're going life. I actually considered using it when I was planning a CI variant after the mace was announced.

but the DoT element itself is only affected by a limited amount of modifiers because its a different kind of damage. GMP/LMP/penetration gem/crit stuff/magic find stuff all have no effect on it

Yes, I know that's a clusterfuck. But Ice Bite will freeze everything with the sheer amount of hits I'm throwing around and give me loads of free frenzy charges, Additional Accuracy will actually be a substantial damage boost with Obscurantis and Snakebite, and Life Gain on Hit will effectively make me immune to reflect as I'm literally hitting hundreds of times per second.

projectile modifiers are things that ignite benefits from (in a double dip fashion) if the ignite was caused by a projectile spell/attack.
If that were not the case and it only benefit from the increased initial hit having a larger base, then the wiki would not include things like 'projectile damage' in the list without also including things like 'attack damage' in that list because ignite also benefits from attack damage in a single fashion due to the increased damage of the initial hit.
