Literally all of the information I've been able to find about SVI mode is that it's "HUD scan" mode, which is self-explanatory in its own right but there's some holes left to be filled.

Would be nice to know if it's a full HUD scan (to the edges of the glass) or more of a circular area around boresight and so on.

Also it doesn't mean everytime a missile explodes the plane is suppose to die, sometimes it's a proximity hit, and it hasn't damaged anything useful, it can happen.

With the mirage however you stick a missile right into it's nose while it's flying at mach one, and the missile is at mach 3, and it comes out like nothings happened, then you need to stick another missile or 2 into it.
Of course the pilot doesn't try to dodge the missiles because mirage pilots are retarded.

Base ATC sucks but generally it vectors you correctly. When actual aircraft file flightplans they very rarely follow it to the letter all the way through, especially in controlled air space.

You need to modify the flightplan manually. Typical short haul routes from Jacksonville to JFK automatically track all the way to the west coast before going north and then coming back all the way east. Because I'm used to the route I know which waypoints I need to use and can modify it manually.

The one type of game that is truly comfy for me is Baja racing- just sitting down for two or three hours uninterrupted and speeding across an empty desert in a fuckoff powerful truck or buggy.

The only game I have seen in years that can do this for me is Edge of Control, and while I can do a two-hour haul on it, a lot of the 'features' are irritating as fuck.

That's what we did. Don't think my "instructor" knew I was already well used to it in MiG-21.

Did do the whole flight around in the clouds which was fairly 'fun,' keeping the L-39 in stable flight without gaining or losing altitude is a bitch, it just doesn't like to be trimmed out at all.

Yeah the version being developed is the E, the export version. Specifically the EE Spanish one, but all the Es were more or less the same.

It had a western style RWR later in it's service life, earlier on in the 70s it had the 'BF', an SPO-10 style system.

They're considering adding an option for the BF in the mission editor, personally I'm hoping we get that option for dank 70s scenarios.

In WW2 planes, yes. afaik there's nothing too special about it, the lens if the important part making sure that the image projected onto the glass is focused at infinity and that it doesn't reflect off both sides of the combiner glass so you don;t see two images. Or more accurately *look* like it's reflecting off both sides.

So I just now realized this means that using the zoom function in DCS for example and filling your view with your HUD is impossible then.

Moving your head to the glass would still show the HUD/sight as "far away" as it does if you move forward with track IR.

Okay so I managed to get it working with some config edits and it's still janky but it's playable now

the mission editor is incomprehensible though.
