Step 1.
Open GIMP. I'm too lazy to pirate anything decent.

Step 2.
Open image. Create new layer over it, in the layer list, select the layer and set the mode to Color.

Step 3: Slap whatever colors you want onto that layer with whatever tool you want, and it automatically recolors what's under it without changing how bright it is.

Maybe it's not the optimal method for everything- but it'll get you recoloring like a pro instead of an amateur with shitty jagged edges.

My personal preference is paint.net for quick stuff and spritework,

GIMP is too bloated for that, but has extra features (like color layers).

I don't know how Genocide took such a nosedive. I mean, I wasn't sold on Omega Judge during Neutral, but at least it was more consistently enjoyable.

Genocide started off strong, the idea of not actually "true resetting" was interesting, and had the feel of OFF more than neutral did. Now it's delved too far into the meta and focusing too much on The Batter as a character, when really he's nothing more than a puppet. Killing everything in one hit is getting repetitive. It makes sense but I wish the author had more creativity. Although it confuses me why the Batter is so OP to begin with, he's not even human.

Well that makes sense, you're making friends with a person they aren't going to go dead silent.
If you kill someone they should stop talking, because they died. Is the healthbar just a measure of how long it takes your weapon to penetrate their skin and reaching the end of it causes them to start bleeding out their last words?
It just seems like a cop-out, a surefire way to make the player feel bad about the character's death. The characters should be written well enough that you hesitate to kill them. If a character's death has to be narrated, then that implies the death doesn't have very much impact or meaning on its own, and that's why I don't think Undertale handles death as well as it should.
