I hardly ever capture him, but from the times that I've used him, I'm willing to call bullshit on some of the other anon's answers. His issue is that he's really fucking slow. If you send him into a battle with 6 guys on both sides, he'll probably never get his move off. So you've got to find a sweet spot where he'll be worth using but also usable (he's not gonna survive in a small team against Takeda or DA castles without savescumming). Tokugawa and the Mikos are probably good calls, everything post-Miko is easy unless you've entered the DK Route.

Incidentally, the best thing about Ikkyu isn't his special move, it's his ease to clear. Get him to 7/7 just once and he's cleared, then just send him out to battle with Rance 7 times and before you know it, he'll be an early game Battle Rating Down 2.

I beat rance 2 yesterday, when I loaded the game I was really surprised to see modern graphics I thought I had downloaded the original but apparently there was a remake that was translated. It was an okay game but I feel like it really lacked in the story department compared to the other games.

I've been playing the fuck out of Daibanchou lately because I'm ashamed to say that I haven't played a better SRPG. Maybe it's just because most of it doesn't appeal to me. But, I'm an /m/ regular who loves his hotblooded grandstanding, so shounen superhero delinquents are right up my alley.

I tried the first three Rance games, and they were okay, but they didn't do too much for me (especially since I'm into femdom). Is there anything else I can look into or am I stuck just waiting around for mangagamer to get around to Daiteikoku?

It's a pretty good SRPG but some of the character clears are just complete bullshit and clearing dungeons is even more of a chore than in SR, also a lot more RNG to it.

I really liked the mechanic where previously cleared characters are stronger in future runs (and the eventual chaos mode, where you just summon all of your previously cleared allies at the very start) Sadly there's a lot of bollocks with mutually exclusive character clears.

The orbs have real pay off in the form of events, so I just consider those, by and large, to be just an extension of game completion, so I give VI a pass on gripes about grinding, at least until that final segment. Then again I just really enjoy dungeon crawlers as well.

If you aim to 100% VI then you won't need to grind at all as you'll get all the levels you need getting orbs, fully exploring maps, collecting point items, increasing characters level caps etc.

-Orb grinding (grabbing 1 of each orb) takes about 5 mines, if you just want a red/yellow it's about 2 minutes. Getting blue orbs on the early maps is time consuming though and you need them to buy new skills
-Levels should never be a problem because experience is shared with the entire party but just in case best thing to do is to learn to min max in order to maximize character usage which result in more battles, more points and more XP.
-Fully exploring each map will take quite a bit of time and multiple visits but you get item rewards and a minimap to use as a reward so I don't consider that a grind, on the plus side this will give you tons of XP because of how many battles you will need to fight. Fully exploring maps is optional though
-Point items you'll mostly get naturally from the above but grinding to get 2 LC armor boosts for the late game can be time consuming and you kind of have to do it in the early game, This is probably the worst grind in the game but it's really only required if you like to min-max
-Increasing level caps require Rance to fuck the said girl and each time it costs 1 yellow orb but as noted above getting yellow and red orbs takes little to no time at all so it's a non-issue

Better? If you play to get 100% you won't need to grind because all the grinding will happen naturally as you aim for certain items and goals.

My favourite "scene" might be the scenes outside the school in 01. Turning Sill upside down and shaking her up and down for cash, trying to climb up the drain pipe and falling on his ass and so on. Shit was hilarious for some reason. There's probably some amazing emotional scene in one of the games but I don't remember it.

My favourite sex scene is probably Akihime's first scene in Sengoku Rance. Crushing Hara and getting to her is pretty much what got me hooked on the games. It also helps it's one of the few really fappable scenes in the game for me and suits my personal preferences well.

I remember that Quest was pretty easy; Magnum was moderately hard. The latter even managed to give my toaster the blue screen right when the battle started, though that was my fault for letting it overheat.

Rance I and Rance 02 are laughably easy. For Rance III, the last was easy but the second last boss can be ridiculous based on how unlucky you are. I haven't finished 4.

Kichikuou Rance doesn't have a proper final boss. I guess you can count Kaybliss, but you can wear him down with numbers.

The normal route version of the last boss of Ranve IX isn't that hard, though he's still pretty intimidating. As I understand it however, each of the character routes has a different last boss, but I haven't played them.

I could see them translating Sengoku first. Maybe 4 years from now assuming one Alicesoft game a year and they alternate between Rance and Non-Rance. I'd prefer they start alternating after Rance Quest considering how long people have waited for it.

Normal scene? When you declare war on Mouri in SR and he gives a speech to his daughters about teamwork. Nearly drove me to tears. Being too fucking badass to teach your daughters a lesson really hits me in the heart.

At first but when I got the impression it was meaningless I stopped. Now I'm just frustrated by the enemies types and seeming RNG on progress. I just got wrecked for sending in Rocky in alone to a random battle on what might be the last floor. Admittedly that's my fault but these instant kill monster gals and archers are also a pain. Also a seemingly empty and unrewarding dungeon is too tedious for me.
