This game was rad back then. I got incredibly lucky and got the sailor demoman hat (which name I forgot) and caused a shitstorm on the server. The toppest tier hats were the tyrant's helmet and the brown scout cap (forgot the name as well). I loved how everytime there was a class update there would be whole servers going nuts with ridiculous class repartition and items (10 spies vs 10 spies all using the 100% invisibility uptime watch - though they updated the sniper at the same time iirc)
I also miss fun community-oriented servers; hell I even miss the old CS/Half Life feeling.

this gave some people a "server uses different class tables" error when trying to connect to games

there will be no difference to other classes but when you disguise as spy and use scroll to change weapons your disguise will also switch weapons

so just disguise as sniper and when you see someone, look back and scroll frantically and they will think you're one of those snipers that switch weapons every second

the problem with powerhouse is that capping mid doesn't give any advantage except allowing to cap last

in 5cp, capping mid usually gives you a forward spawn and sets the main fight area to be different than the last

there is always some sort of flow in battle of 5cp, whether its an enemy pushing into your territory or you reclaiming your own, the map is big enough for there to be a flow

powerhouse doesn't work because there is very little flow in that map
the spawns are in awkward positions, mid is easy to spam and last is directly out side of spawn

its basically just a territorial control point map with an extra useless cap point in the middle, which is why matches either last 5 minutes or an hour

you know how by buffing the medic you also indirectly buff every single power class like demo, soldier, and heavy?
and if you nerf scout, you will make it easier for demos and soldiers to survive in some encounters and go an extra step further and blow up a sentry or something, which means engineer is going to have a harder time too

im just saying this whole game is a chain of events and you can't just buff or nerf a class until it clicks, because its not going to happen

theres interactions between every single class and you can buff one class by nerfing another
