Yeah, I'm not disagreeing. I just caught a spliced self-verified run the other day, actually. It definitely goes without saying that most people don't care about a run if there's no video to begin with, though. It's important for the sanctity of a game's community, and it's great that you're defending that, actually. I'd say runs with no video are fine so long as they aren't claiming a good time. I only use videos to learn strats. I just think you're being a tiny bit autistic about it.

Let's take a stroll down memory lane...

Pac is a rwhitegoose nuthugger and made speedrun.com for an alternative for goldeneye runners because rwhitegoose was on a tirade against the mods on the elite. It turned out that only goose and a couple others wanted to move the forums and leaderboard over to speedrun.com but not enough to take down the elite site. Luckily for Pac, he got the site up and running in time for SRL to completely implode. Cosmo going insane and the "dev" team of SRL not able to push out SRL leaderboards brought people over to speedrun.com. Big communities were transferring over to speedrun.com after SRL announced they were done trying to finish leaderboards. Since SRL leaderboards were dead, the devs of that (mainly Kirkq) offered to help with speedrun.com. That is where everything went wrong. Kirkq was a major factor in why SRL leaderboards didn't launch. His lack of aggression when it came to bureaucratic matters fucked SRL leaderboards and now it fucked speedrun.com. Kirkq let mods rule the leaderboards. Kirkq refused to step in and tell people to stop being retarded with accepting records with no video evidence, or to stop making arbitrary categories, or to delete repulsive background images on the game pages.
