bane is just a hero that can make a game if the enemy does indeed send in heroes in 1-2s, but will never amount to anything with a significant number of cores swarming him.
he's not so great in this meta because of the prevalence of many highly agile heroes, such as PA, void, morph, and riki in your game alone.
i don't know what support could have won that game, but it wasn't bane. he was better in 4p1 lineups and single/dual core games, which simply occur less and less the lower skill bracket you go, and generally less often since offlaners became farming cores in their own right.
i'd like to say earth spirit had a fighting chance, but your early game would have been much much weaker for not having a ranged hero with quality nuke.

As arc warden you should focus on a fast midas in lane then rotate to start snowballing.

your mistake is assuming there is such a hero, there fucking isn't. at most you can get a support that makes their game harder but there's no guaranteed wins. my recommendation is harassing the shit out of them in the safelane, people usually think that's a won lane all the time for some reason. gank it, delay the am's battlefury/drow's push/etc.

as an alternative, pick accordingly. lion against AM, disruptor against slark and so on, but you still have to play well, using your skills well alone wont win you the game.
