This game is not a shooter, you can literally play this game (while not optimal), without ever having a gun equipped. Please go on and tell other shooters where you can go out in the battle without a gun equipped.

The game was designed with the intent that gun and swords would be used in conjuction, in practice it might have skewed towards guns because of balance issues, but the game is still equal parts gun and melee. The thorn helps out and this game will always be more of an arpg than a shooter.
