Point is, Sonic has super speed. He's not just some gifted runner, he's basically The Flash, and that's been a fact since his conception and debut. Having to work your way up to being fast just doesn't sit right with me, since that means that at the start of the stage you'll be moving slow and it'll take time to go fast, yet outside of gameplay Sonic takes off at high speed instantly and accelerates at an accelerated rate.

It's just that I think gameplay should feel like how Sonic would ACTUALLY move in-universe. Like the Sonic CD opening, or the Sonic Unleashed opening, and stuff like that, Sonic gameplay should feel something like that. Along with the fact that Sonic possesses supersonic (actually FTL but that's not the point) speeds and loves to go fast and hates waiting. In-Universe, Sonic blasts through at supersonic speed (occasionally hitting and surpassing light speed), shattering the sound barrier and moving like the wind, bouncing off the walls like a spinball with super-awesome hardcore parkour skills. It's just, the idea of having to "EARN" that clashes with the idea of who and what Sonic is, in terms of my understanding. Maybe I'm just not interpreting 'earning speed' right.

They should just pull a Pellerito and whore out Shadow on every single cover. After Shattered World just nothing but Shadow. Shadow in every arc in Universe. Shadow on every mainline cover. Every digest just Shadow story reprints. Start printing Shadow: Agent of G.U.N.

Though really just getting their distribution sorted out and putting the Sonic comics alongside regular Archie comics like they used to would help. Print comic industry's been essentially dead for decades though.
