Not even remotely. There aren't that many threads on the board which are predominately waifu/husbando posting. /xcg/ isn't one of them, and to claim otherwise is ridiculous.

We have 750 posts before bump limit. Less than 75 on average are snek or remove snek related. If you include general waifu/husbando (EXALT, EXALT-chan, Patsy, Coydex, etc.) we still rarely go over 150 total posts between all of them.

You're over-exaggerating a problem because you're mad about seeing something you don't like. Get over yourself.

All the pieces are in place, the current ayys have been defeated in both timelines (introduce new aliens), humanity now has access to advanced technology, post ADVENT hybrids are literally the hybrids in Apocalypse, Julian is an advanced AI so that would be a good link for the Androids.We have scientists and engineers who are actual peoples (similar to Apoc).

The only problem is whether Jake is going to remake TFTD. With the ending cutscene in X2, that seems to point towards X3 being set or related to stuff underwater, obviously like TFTD.

Yeah its weird because technically if you ignore the ending cut-scene for X2, X1's setting is much closer to the original jump off to TFTD. Of course, the cutscene in X2 could possibly be teasing the next XCOM which is TFTD and takes place after XCOM1. Basically I have no idea, and with the Firaxis going for alternate timelines, they can do whatever the hell they want.
I would welcome a TFTD remake, though I would definitely be more excited for and Apoc remake. Also odd is the fact that Jake has publicly stated he dislikes TFTD and alot of that was that he felt the underwater setting wasn't very compelling.

Second month, so everyone was packing Laser rifles so it wasn't a big deal. They were too close for me too effectively use HE bricks because I was running people straight out of the skyranger and fighting them. They also didn't last long enough.

Its not that it can't be good, but tftd was literally an x-com skin of the first one, and the the game was full of magnificence (read bullshit) so it turns people off. Technically, TFTD is a very good candidate for a remake because of these very reasons. But as I've already stated, it doesn't really doing anything too interesting imo, while the posibilities with Apoc are pretty endless, and boy, could that game use a remake.

Just imagine the Firaxis XCOM team giving the game real graphics and an actualy artstyle that doesn't look like garbage is enough to make it worth while.

And unlike TFTD, Apoc actually set out to do very interesting things, in its settings and its strategic mechanics. It has the most freedom of any game when it comes to launching your own operations as well.

Anarchy DLC is mostly meh and can be skipped since there's much better free cosmetic mods. Alien Rulers will wreck your shit if you're unprepared but the narrative mission for when you first find one is neat and they give you cool armor once you autopsy them. SPARKs are pretty good too and have a variety of cool abilities and uses, like being used as cover or directing fire away from your meatbags. Especially useful in drawing out Chryssalids too since they can't be poisoned. The mission where you unlock them is also pretty long, narrative heavy and challenging.

Yes. Anarchy's Children is purely aesthetic, for people who want some of their soldiers to have a Mad Max/punk rebel theme. I like it, lots of people in /xcg/ don't. Shen's Last Gift also gives you a special mission and a new character class. SPARKS aren't amazing, but they're still fun to play around with.

Use the mod that tells you how many hours are left until a mission expires. There's been so many times where I needed to pick up some quick supplies, finish a scan or even have one of my wounded soldiers make a recovery in less than 24 hours before a gorilla ops or retaliation mission disappeared. You can just ignore the warning it gives you and tap the scan every couple of hours until you get what you need.

Regarding XCOM 2 soundtrack modding, it uses the godawful .wem file format which I have passing familiarity with, as Killing Floor 2 uses the same format

After some fiddling I managed to change the main menu music in a fewminutes. The main issues will be:

>the files need to be replaced, so no Workshop availability and manual backups are a must

I'm hoping someone has figured out how to edit the track lengths and will correct me before the thread is over. Aside from the few hours it'll take to figure out what tracks are what, that's the biggest issue at hand.

The first month for standard abductions, it's recommended to bring all rookies and get them one kill each so they rank up.
For downed small ufos, bring 5 rooks and an assault or gunner to babysit them and help kill the outsider. Rookies always level up after a ufo mission regardless of whether they get a kill or not.

When it comes to early squad comps (6-7), the more important part is the equipment and type of abilities your bring.
You should have at least one suppression, most likely gunners, but also could be medics or infantry.
You are going to want AOE damage, so that means engis or rocketeers.
You want some people with shotguns to bring good aim against close range targets, also very good against floaters getting in your face. This can be assaults and scouts, though medics and engis can pack shotguns as well.
For equipment, I always recommend one motion scanner, one medkit, a couple of ap nades, and a couple flashes.

For 8 man squads, one of each is actually a perfectly good idea. For some mission or map types, you may want to forgo a class. For example snipers may be of limited use in urban close quarters, or rocketeers if you are going to have to move fast.

This is all in my limited experience and are just suggestions, but I hope it helps.

Seriously? The Alien rulers aren't even that hard. All you have to do is exploit their weaknesses.
Viper King? Put a bladestorm ranger or two near it (preferably after shredding its armor)
Berserker Queen? Poison it, and run.
Archon King? Don't put your units right next to each other, and put a supression or two on it.
All can be frozen, all can be poisoned, and all can be burned.
Stasis will disable it for an entire turn, instead of an action or two, giving you time to pick off other enemies, or spread everyone and activate overwatch.
Speaking of overwatch, the "Overwatch all" mod counts as one action, which completely gimps the rulers' ability to hurt you, while allowing all of your guys to fill him with bullets.
All actions should be free or turn ending if possible. If a unit doesn't take any actions, the rulers get a free action.
If you are unprepared to start fighting rulers, DON'T GO ON THE MISSION.
Always expect a ruler to show up on a mission. Always.
Rulers don't get reaction moves during concealment- so use it wisely.

If all else fails, try downloading a mod or two to give you an edge.

I haven't played XCOM2 in a while, and what the fuck is this?

This is the *third* time I had to restart my campaign because of these new bosses. I'm still on assault rifles, magnetic weapons just finished literally a day ago but I don't have the alloy to build them, and yet on my supply raid mission I'm faced with this god-fucking faggot again.

Cheesy as hell.

Some maybe better tips: start by changing frame of mind compared to a normal engagement. You won't get away flawless, expect to get hit several times at least. Forget cover against zerker queen and archon king.
Start with an overwatch trap.
Bring everyone with CCS, sentinel, rapid reaction, etc.
Any stuns are gloriously effective, but you don't have many available. So bring the fucking freeze nade! Preferably on a good grenadier to get 2.
Anything that limits mobility is useful, but especially on the berserker queen, who can't shoot.
Bring someone/something that can shred armor.
Bring people who have free actions, they don't trigger ruler reaction (eg save the axe throw for the ruler).
Mimic beacons can save a soldier in a pinch.

What are you talking about? Bladestorm is a passive skill that procs every time an enemy moves while in melee range. You will usually get a few (attempted) hits on the ruler if you run up with a tanky ranger or one with good dodge.

Bombard can be a pretty useful ability since you don't even need direct LoS and the time spent repairing them doesn't really account for anything considering you can bring them on a mission no matter what state they're in, which can be invaluable when you have a surprise gorilla ops mission sneak up your ass and some of your regular crew are off the job recovering.

Being able to punch anything and deal guaranteed damage together with stuff like Overdrive can have a lot of utility too, not to mention they're great bait for burrowed Chryssalids since they're not meatbags

The two changes you mentioned add a LOT of difficulty in the early game, and certainly make it a lot more interesting. Past that, though, it's just tedium that's in no way harder than Commander, it just takes more time to do anything.

Are you open to mods? If so, you can make use of the A Better ADVENT series to get both more enemies and significantly better AI on them. If you don't want the bonus enemy types, I believe there's a mod called A Better AI that improves the AI as much as is possible.

It's not a problem unique to XCOM, anon. It affects many different game genres, like enemies who can just one shot kill you in shooters with inhuman laser precision across the map or retarded AI that literally cheats and produces more resources than the player does in RTS games. It's a cop out. A Berzerker having 45 bars of health instead of 32 doesn't require you to 'play better' when it acts exactly the same as it does in a lower difficulty. It means I just have to piss away more time focusing it down.

It's not. And I do have to play differently in Commander then Legendary. Is it always a good choice? No not really, for some games it just blows. It's just one slider of many you can use to adjust difficulty, conceptually its fine but its about the execution. If its used correctly, then the player should be forced to use the best and most efficient tactics and have good habits on the hardest difficulty, and if they do those things they should win.

definitely stick to og x-com. PirateZ is alot more complicated, but still built on the same core rules. I highly recommend you read up on the UFOpaedia.org section for x-com. Very helpful stuff. Also make sure to read everything in you UFOpaedia in game, also very helpful.

OW from concealment doesn't have the -30% penalty, no.
It's not really that useful later on since you'll have better alternatives.
It's mostly helpful to rookies since they can't hit shit.

Xenonauts has very little strategic and tactical depth. It's cool if it's your first X-COM, but most of its gameplay choices are reactionary to OG-COM instead of naturally derived, such as the piss-poor explosives and the lack of psionics.

While it's 'streamlined', with some minor UI tweaks, it's also still programmed quite fiddlily. Modded OG-COM is heaps better.

I have access to 1 facility and right now i have the dark event of everything costing more intel and i have access to one more facility as soon as i reach the next part of Europe.
