Genjicucks are the worst instalockers in the game. There is rarely another character who people pick in every single game regardless of the needs of the team because he just can not be shut down easily. The amount of accounts that have 99% of their gametime spent on Gengu is disturbing. You can rarely see that for any other character except for maybe dumb Mercy bimbos, but those do not exist in the higher ranks of the game.

After about 2-3 hours with Zarya, I'm still struggling to git gud with her. It seems like every time I up against one on the enemy team, she's ether extremely hard to kill or a walking death machine solo capping points.

When I play her I have trouble getting kills and once my shields are down, staying alive.

I know the ins and outs of playing her:

>bubble friendlies who are about to die or are hooked/stunned
>play offensively when your charges are high
>play defensively when your charges are low or bubbles are on cool down

Just seems like I can never do enough single-target damage to kill people.

Are there any guides or videos you guys would recommend? I need some better resources to see how a good Zarya plays firsthand.

qp is so awful that I have embraced the cancer

Either I play mei and freeze only one person on their team again and again and lock the enemy in at their spawn, or I play winston and target one person, spamming how embarrassing, usually their genji

When the average attack game consists of 2 bastion, widowmaker, torbjorn, lucio and reinhardt (the two actually trying) and yourself, there really isn't much hope

Reinhardt doesn't need a nerf, the game just needs more modes where other thanks like dva and winston shine. By fundamentals of design, reinhardt works on lane based forward progression maps

I wonder if Bastion would be a threat in the modern times. Tech is more advanced but it doesn't mean it is good against old stuff. In the flashback Reinhardt type shields could easily block two or more Bastion turrets in the battlefield and fire strikes took out everything in their paths. Ingame Reinhardt can barely take a few seconds of sustained fire and his fire strike takes off one third of Bations HP. This means modern Reinhardt equipment is probably better against modern weapons but weaker of old non used fire.

His fan now hits from further range because of the change to projectile size, and his m1 is also going to hit a bit more often.

There are parts about genji's design that feel fundamentally unbalanced

The dash resetting should be limited to final blows, the double jumps should have a cooldown, reflect's hitbox should be a much smaller shield like use to take down things like bastion and deflect snipers/mcree, and it shouldn't deflect melee

His ult already was ridiculous, and it's good that blizzard are nerfing it

The problem is mainly that his counters aren't mobile enough to keep up with him

Winston can jump towards him, but this will make any winston a large center of attention, and genji, utilising dashes and wall climbing can easily get out of the lightning's range and get tons of ult charge of the winston

symmetra could potentially be a counter with her tracking beam and turrets, but genji can easily kill and symmetra through dashing

Mcree is limited by genji players never really being very susceptible to flashbang due to momentum from constantly jumping, and reflect basically removing the danger from most combat and ult situations

Mei's frost is far too unreliable to track down a genji, who will in 90% of cases just dash out, her ult similarly is basically useless to capture a genji due to the dash

I feel that games with genji would be far more enjoyable if his dash was more limited in use, it's good that they've made junkrat's trap impervious to genji's dashing through it, but what about something like making genji's dash unable to escape from something like zarya's ultimate

Fucked up his precision burst fire so now he can't snipe supports who stick out their heads at long ranges (their hitboxes are too small to spray, helix rocket is too unreliable and waiting for the spray to reset gives them time to run into cover). It completely neutered S:76's niche as the long range suppressing fire guy on defense, which was basically the only way to play him at higher levels where hero balance actually matters.
