Mercy pulled her in close holding her across her chest and cascading her fingers through her hair.
‘I have you dear, dont you worry about anything, I have you’
Pharah fell asleep in her arms after a short while, as Mercy gazed contently ahead.
She’ll call and make the appointment first thing in the morning.
The repair men would arrive before noon.
But for now, nothing else mattered. Her Phara had finally let her guard down. Finally let herself be relaxed, and embraced, held in a way she hadn’t since she was a child. Mercy leaned back and gave a sigh, glancing sideways at the gym bag she brought with her.
It was filled with a spare set of Phara’s prosthetics.

I'm not seeing any difference between live genji and ptr genji.
I placed platinum in PTR playing just genji, almost diamond.

In live, I played over 300 games with assorted characters that were not the "hard to play" ones(genji, hanzo, widow) and stuck with characters like McCree, junkrat, and the tanks.
I was stuck at rank 41, I switched to genji and climbed to 58 before the season ended suddenly in the afternoon instead of midnight EST. Only took me three days of playing and about 30 or 40 games to get there I think.

I'm not sure how high I could have gone, genji is piss easy to play.
Right now these are some numbers from overbuff. I don't think I'm really doing anything, just jumping around mashing buttons but it seems I'm a pretty high percentile in mashing buttons.
But what I wanted to ask here anyways, what should I be working on, just dying less? That seems to be my biggest issue, going balls deep all the time.

How do I play her effectively? I've seen a lot of people use her really well, she can be a huge pain to push in against and that teleporter can be incredible.

Every time I try and user her it just feels like I get one chance. If I die/get wiped after the initial defense out of the gate, that's pretty much it and its incredibly difficult to get set up again with my turrets/position and the more points they cap the weaker she gets. I usually just end up switching off her if the initial defense fails but I want to get better at her.

I'm not a pro but I played plenty of Mistre- Symmetra and I think the key is surviving until the first teleport.Depending on the map and the team you should either try to shut down an entire route (anubis) or put turrets everywhere and create an alarm system (numbani). In my experience you are annoying but low priority among the defenders so if you aren't alone you will live long. Your gun (like winstons) is very effective after a few seconds of sustained fire, if you attack damaged targets it often causes massive panic and multikills.

This. I'm not a great player and I like to heal / tank but when my team plays terrible I tend to switch (because they healing won't keep the alive anyway) and we almost always improve by a mile. It doesn't mean we win a stomp but make them work for it, while we had zero chance before.
It is scary how many people can't shoot, pick targets and set priorities even in 55+ in comp. Entire teams leaving Mercy for last, never going after a comfy Widow who picks us off one by one since the start of the match and don't even get me started on leaving Pharas roaming free and never ever going after an injured Mei on cooldown.
Yesterday I was forced to hunt down Mercy and Widow as Symmetra through the entire defense game on Anubis. My team just sat on the point, dying left and right while Widow stood in front of them under the bridge.

Find a suitable room to setup sentries.
Put 5 in the ceiling and 1 on the ground which they can see the moment they enter the room.

Place turrets near the enemy spawn, but not close enough to see you do it or see them (next to cars, walls, hiden in trees, etc)

Do this so you can charge your teleporter in the first 30 seconds, once your teleporter is up focus your turrets around the flanks, and throw 1 from time to time at the chokepoint, so your tank and DPS can kill the enemy faster.

My machine is kind of oldish and Overwatch is the best it can handle, but when I started off it was even worse
I cranked down all of the graphics settings and it got much better, even if it is still present for the first minute or so of the game.
