Character wise he forms a nice trio with the slayers and he does find and fill his own personality niche alongside the other male characters. In theory gameplay wise he fits the role of the melee character with a bit more range, not as long range as the gunners and mages nor as much as a heavy hitter as priest but he does hit a lot of the mid-range fairly well and at a reasonable speed. There's a minimum investment for gear to be competitive, which are level 85 halidoms and at least advanced clone avas with a speed based pet, aura and title. Whale epics are just luxury. I'd argue that rare clones make a big difference, but I pvped just fine for a whole year and got to a high rp without them.

Everyone with some ounce of skill can juggle anybody for "half their health", it all depends on the timing, positioning and skills available. If I have all my cds up and you walk into one of my good combos you're probably going to lose more than half your hp. Nobody loses half their hp in 3 hits unless they're both severely underleveled and undergeared. You don't pvp if you're underleveled and undergeared unless you're fighting people in the same situation.

Don't think of dfo pvp as some balanced fighting game where all you need to do is choose a character but as some typical mmo pvp like tera or wow. Would you ever go try to gank some level 100 fully pvp geared warrior in wow with your level 20 warlock and then cry about how unfair it was when he one shot you and the game should be more fair to you? Probably not unless you're a fucking retard. Same goes for dfo.

If this doesn't sit well with you you can wait till they release the dojo and arena-exclusive character patch which allows you to instantly make a pvp-competitive character that can't participate in pve.

Go to tessa's wiki and read up the pvp page. Also, gooks play this shit game as an esport.

Rogue is pretty broken right now. They are incredibly strong even without funds thanks to Hit End gears, their exclusive epic set from OV2. Yet they scale very well with additional funds, Even Trannymisu ditched ele for rogue.

SD is alright but you will need to farm either 9pc OV3 set or Gracia to start being remotely any useful in party.

Kunoichi gameplay revolves around a clone that mimics last few spellcasts done by you. One of the 3 most broken classes in current patch(Summ, Chaos, Kuno), although toned down in future. To my surprise there are barely anyone playing Kuno in DFOG, but I've seen one in tainted evaporating Anton bosses in one rotation.

I haven't played Necro, but I know they are extremely potent as they do shittons of damage with right gears while providing much needed utility(hold) as well. However you have to fund both swap gear and dps gear, which may not be desirable for those with thin wallet.

2pc Halidoms work fine for swap gear, and Dark Ritual is getting reworked so you don't need to get that much STR in the future anyways (going from a +4444 INT cap to a +1000 INT cap and +60% skill damage), so you don't need to go crazy with swap gear except to get skill levels, which is what everyone does.

It doesn't even have to be set pieces, as long as you hit the exorcism requirement, you're good to go

They removed a lot of annoying gimmicks and dumbed-down most of the dungeons in general that you can easily solo them as long as you have the required exorcism

You also only need 20 days to get a full 9 set pieces, and that's without resets or anything, just normal runs everyday

Any other company would have nerfed Sader into the ground years ago. Instead, Neople waits years to nerf Sader, only nerfs them by like 10%, and then turns every +INT or +STR or +ATK skill / buff / passive in the game into skill damage so that Sader is better with them.

Your Necromancer gets 6666 INT from her buff? Well, now it's 666 and 20% skill damage! What do you mean, you do half as much damage? It's almost 10% more damage with a Sader in the party as it was before!

Dark Ritual is probably about the same difficulty to cap as before, if not higher. You need +10 DR and 2500 strength (that counts for Dark Ritual, no less) to cap in kDnF.

In comparison to other buffswap skill-boosting items, Wands and equipment is POOR AS FUCK at skillboosting Dark Ritual; all of the skill bonuses are for Vallacre the Slaughterer.

It's easy as fuck to get more out of Dark Ritual in a party with a Sader post-patch compared to pre-patch. And you get so many number buffs at the same time! And Unholy Mastery is actually 100% upkeep!

Will agree though that Sader is pretty dumb, design and balance wise. All of their current buff patches to classes that involve trading stats for skill damage could've been averted by just making Sader give 80-120% skill damage as overall buffs, depending on his stats.

I've been over this so many times.

The problems here is that Sader is over relied on in the highest tier of content, and classes with self buffs that increase Str/Int don't mesh well with him due to additive increases as opposed to other classes with multiplicative increases

So make a support that competes with him, but via a different increase (like your suggested skill damage) so each support is better with a different party comp.

It turns out the game already has another damage increase support class, it's just bad (F.Nen)
The actual correct thing to do would be to leave Sader and all those classes with strong +Str/Int buffs as is and make F.Nen better.

Really they could have fixed their problem by changing 1 classes instead of the amount of work they did to chance 10

Nen is in a good spot. She increases damage by a fair amount. Sader is the issue.

Personally, I'd just make Sader's buffs into flat increases for allies, but then have them also buff the Sader by an additional amount based on VIT / SPR. It avoids making the Sader whales SUPER MAD and it fixes the problem.

Like everything else, that's a tool to be used when the situation demands it. This situation definitely does not demand that approach.

The problem with buffing the supports is that, while the supports would be interchangeable, you'd still have at least one support on 100% of teams. You'd go from Saders on every team to Saders OR Nens on every team. And even worse, the buffs would stack, so 3 supports + 1 DPS would be even more OP than it already is.

By nerfing Sader, you don't force a support in every party. It's a clearly better solution. The only downside is that you have to then nerf a lot of content which was only possible before because Sader is so fucking OP.

It honestly depends on what his remaining subclasses would be or rather what weapons they would use. A pike-user for example could be called something like Phalanx or hoplite. That said if his other subclasses have more of a magic twist to them the theme dream may be dead
