I don't know if I hate it, but I am rather displeased and worried about how they're handling the intellectual property.

I've been playing videogames for over 20 years. I have developed a sense for the intent of a developer and the direction they have for a videogame. It's not always right, but it usually gives me a generally good gauge of whether something is going to be a decent game or fucking terrible.

The fact they felt the need to do the wormhole thing is worrying. It feels like they wanted to bring up our hopes for a game that directly links Ground Zeroes and V, then markets on top of it. That's not a good sign.

The zombies thing isn't even the worst part. Ghosts and Zombies aren't exactly a new concept in Metal Gear. Thing is, they were never a major element of the games either. All the weird supernatural shit in Metal Gear has usually been a minor element relating to an in-game boss, a hallucination, or both. In this game it seems like they're going to be a primary enemy type and a pervasive game element.

But, on the other hand, there have been alt-universe games that get silly but have still managed to be good games. Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare seems the most appropriate comparison. Thing is, that game marketed itself as being exactly that: A whacky spin-off that had nothing to do with the main game.

I can't really say with certainty that it'll be terrible. If they can capture the not-quite-realistic silliness of Metal Gear into a game and make it work then they'd have to be fucking geniuses and I don't know if they've got it in them. My brain is telling me "Watch and see, but don't get your hopes up because it's got a high chance of being really bad."

The moment the trailer started it pulled your hopes up for a mainline game, then immediately dashed them with the fucking wormholes in the sky. Konami doesn't give a shit about our expectations, they care about getting our attention because of the IP. That is not a good sign.

Ac!d was a fucking card game for a mobile platform and Rising functioned great for what it was. Pointing to those two isn't going to win any favors from Metal Gear fans since a lot of them didn't even play Ac!d and I've met my fair share of people who hated Rising because they don't think it met the standard of the series. I disagree with them, and feel that Rising was a fine spin-off that did justice to Raiden's character and the post-MGS4 continuity, but that doesn't give Survive a free pass.

Kojima himself made a lot of promises that were never fulfilled, and the game just kind of ended without an actual ending. Now to see this spinoff and the direction the IP is heading. Honestly I was a little upset with the "ending" of MGSV but after a couple of weeks I started to appreciate it a lot more. Looking back, it was a good game and I had a lot of fun playing it. I eventually came to terms with the concept that MGSV might be the last Metal Gear game.

Now that Survive was announced it feels like somebody dug up Metal Gear's corpse and decided to try and bring it back as a zombie. I'm not sure how anybody expected the fans to react with anything other than disgust.

Snake slowly manipulated Quiet's feelings of hate for what happened to her into feelings of guilt for doing he stuff she did to him, and then those feelings become love to which he rejects her, just as he planned, making her lonely and depressed and suicidal, when she finally tries to kill herself she fails, and when Snake goes to """save""" Quiet, she is misled to believe that Snake wanted to bring her back to his home, when the only thing he was really there to do was stab her in the back.

Quiet was less than nothing. She didn't belong anywhere, she wasn't a diamond dog and Snake never cared about her, he certainly never loved her. No one did.

She was less than friendzoned by Venom.

yes, you dont have to do anything if you are talking about tanks, weapon emplacements or mortars.

the only time you need to micro manage is when you buy soldiers with PF or Event points. Only if you base is full though.

Thinking of replaying TPP but this time on PC.

My question is, what's the news with the "Definitive Edition"?

I'm deciding whether to wait for what is potentially a bundle of TPP+GZ+DLC and get that instead, or instead buy TPP and GZ seperately on PC.

Is it all speculation or is there something actually happening?

Theyre branching away from the solid title, that timeline is finished, we'll be seeing new events and conspiracies. They're starting with something familiar (motherbase) and branching away from there (via wormholes)
Only Snake is tough enough to take on a metal gear by himself time and time again, so perhaps coop play is going to be a trend
What i'm really interested in is the competitive element (MGO) if theres going to be one and if it's going to be a well-crafted machine like MGOs 1 and 2

Stealth runs are easy if you like the game and you've played through more than 10 times. I do big boss runs on MGS4 every other month for kicks.
I started the series with 4 when I was 14, and was not disappointed by any of the others (except maybe MG1)

Twin Snakes actually runs pretty well on emulator, I'm getting 1080p60fps no problem
Unfortunately I can't even seem to get past the first two guards without getting caught
Anyone got any general tips?

Is there any effective way to game by FOB grade other than just suiciding invasions a bunch?
I'm stuck in this awkward loop where I win, rank up and fight people with 10x the wins and 10x the points with bases I'm too garbage to infiltrate then I rank back down and get matched with people with 10-15 security lvl and 5-10 wins.
I want to git gud but this is such a dramatic jump in challenge I just get destroyed.

Am I imagining things or did a base security soldier just say something about my driving when I drove too close to him?

Also I never noticed when I started doing my first playthrough but the boob physics are really decent. There's all this stuff I'm noticing post end-game that I just rushed past first time. I don't know why people get so pissed about episode 3 when there's so many little things hidden away in this game.
