No issues, all you do is get in and out of your current ship, twice if you want to be safe, switch to the ship you want the skin of, reload previous save under options, the skin of the second ship will now be on the original ship's inventory and upgrades.

>>
>>152059030

>>
whats up with the autosaves?
>>
>>152059030
Using Signal Scanners to scan for Transmission signals give locations of Beacons, Observatories, and Transmission Towers. Transmission Towers give locations for crashed ships. In Gek systems Transmission Towers are bugged and you can repeatedly use the same one to discover a shit ton of ships.
>>
>>152059325
>space jews let you use their towers as many times as you want
Truly bizzaro world
>>
>>152059320
The only autosaves are when you get out of your ship. Otherwise you have to manually do it at a save point beacon thing.

This is also when the game uploads discoveries to the server, it doesn't do it when you upload them in the menu.

Reset everything to default after the latest experimental patch, besides changing FOV to 120.

New Nvidia drivers, everything set to max 1080 getting stable 60 on foot. i5 2500k at 4.0 / 970

Still get stutters while flying. Could probably drop AA and AF which now seems to be working through the in game menu. Vsync works as well.

PCs are for sad geeks who have no life.

Game consoles are for those who want to entertain themselves.

I once tried using a PC - it was an absolute nightmare! (those who create these various versions don't exactly make them for the novice; they wrongly assume EVERYONE is a Geek) And using it was WORSE!!! Besides, I've ALWAYS used XBox, and it's too late to teach this old dog new tricks. And when PCs become as easy to use as XBox, games are as easy to load into PC as it is for XBox, and there's Halo 2 ported to PC (or better still, XBox games are compatible with PC), THEN I'll use it And You PC-ers DARE to accuse Bill Gates of being the 'Antichrist'?! At least he makes his game consoles EASY to buy & use!!!

So, until then, I say:
GET THEE BEHIND ME, PC-SATAN!!!

No Man's Sky is perfect for consoles. I guess the poor reception for PC and the performance issues have a lot to do that it's not that advanced of a game. It's basic. But in a good way imo. It gave me a very satisfying console experience and is compatible with the pick up and play mentality of consoles.

I don't think it's out, gog won't get the patch like steam has until it's stable/release or whatever... so the best you can do is copy over the gamedata files from the cracked copy and use your old gog exe, it might work for you but probably not, or just download the steam cracked copy and apply the update to that

you also might be able to get it running playably with the SSE 4.1 emulation work around

>star systems are laid out like star systems, not like a row of houses

pretty much, yeah. that's how i've placed easter eggs in games i've made. wait for the game to be finished, then go back and sprinkle em in. if the same easter eggs appeared on millions of planets because they were part of the standard assets, they wouldn't be very good easter eggs now would they?

I just wish the game wasn't so pussymode about its survival elements, there's no point in anything to require fuel or power with the abundance of shit everywhere

I mean why bother having pulse drives need fuel if you are literally flying through fuel at all times? Just remove the fucking pulse drive.

Boneheaded shit like that makes me think Sony pressured them to make the game easymode for console babies
>>
>>152066876
>no refueling for takeoff engines
No, I actually would like fuel even for moving around. Only with a tank that doesn't run out after 4 take offs.
>automatic topping up of energies from reserves for your multitool
No, I'm frugal and always want to use the most efficient power cell. I doubt this system would craft them automatically.
>ground vehicle like ATV or Speeder Bike, or both because variety never hurt anyone
I guess. I like walking. I wouldn't use them. Like horses in TES games.
>underwater verhicle/equipment like a Dive Scooter
There's no underwater worth exploring.
>3rd person mode for ships
Fuck no.
>upgradeable inventory for ships
>missile weapons for ships
Yes.
>proper lock on notification during ship combat
No.
>ship is summonable to location (maybe have that consume resources)
That already happens.
>ships can come to a stop/hover
More like ships can be controlled at all when on a planet.

As for the remaining ones, it's not meant to be a space simulator.

Overall, 2/10 like your picture.

But he's right. People on console are overall shittier at video games and like their games to be as casual difficulty as possible.

I'm terrified of deep water in video games because I know devs will create sea monsters, even when they never do. I know this game will only randomly generate things but I'm still scared of giant sea monsters in an environment where I'm drowning and can't use my weapon.

I had one planet with oceans on it and I made the mistake of solving a reflector puzzle. It marked a ruin under water for me, and because that POI highlight will NEVER disappear even if you leave that planet. I had to actually go to it.

I was terrified even though the only water animals I found were small and docile, I had 1 species left to find on that planet and I just dreaded it was going to be some predatory leviathan.

Turned out it was just a second species of flying bird but hey. Imaginations run wild.

Okay, I'll do it for him, and for your shitty diapered ass.

>No, I actually would like fuel even for moving around.
Treadmill gameplay is garbage. It boils down to tedium. You can get a similar, cheaper and more enjoyable and rewarding experience by reading a book and having to periodically get up to drink water.

>Only with a tank that doesn't run out after 4 take offs.
We agree on this.

>No, I'm frugal and always want to use the most efficient power cell.
You do this in a game where you can literally get more fuel for free at any time by just pointing in a direction and pressing the left mouse button. This is worthless, just like your opinions.

>I doubt this system would craft them automatically.
So put those in your reserve.

>I guess. I like walking. I wouldn't use them. Like horses in TES games.
There is barely any difference between walking and riding in Skyrim, except combat. Mounted combat in Skyrim is actually the only time combat in Skyrim is ever moderately good or anything but a DPS race. Even in Oblivion it's going fast, and going fast is something most real humans find fun, not that you would understand the idea of "fun," judging by that post.

>There's no underwater worth exploring.
First of all, underwater is not very different from on land in objective terms in this game. Second, as the best looking place on most planets that have water in a game where the only incentive to play is finding nice looking things, you are simply fucking wrong.

>Fuck no.

I'm also on a 270x and get a pretty steady ~30-40, with extreme dips when loading shit in most likely due to my shit cpu and 60 in space stations. All maxed settings, 1.5x resolution upscaling fix, 1200p.

Witcher 3 at otherwise maxed settings with nvidia hairworks off is 50-60 consistently. Skyrim with 4-8k textures and an intensive enb sans dof is 30-40 as well. Fallout 4 is 60 with severe dips in boston after about 30 minutes, fixable by restarting the game. Monster hunter online is 60 most of the time, 30 in mezeporta. Those are about all the other intensive games I play, all play as smoothly as or better than this overpriced poorly optimised piece of shit with graphics straight out of 2008 and a max draw distance of two meters.

That said for most games AMD is simply inferior. AMD are budget cards, and you get more per dollar I guess but they really are simply not as good. Except for this game, I guess.

Each Transmission Tower you find will lead you to one crashed ships. Go to the Towers and solve the riddle there and you will get a waypoint.

So, the bottom right corner is what I found worrisome. After I left my starter planet and landed there, I got a lengthy list that I should discover the HyperDrive tech, build it, get fuel and whatnot.

Now ever since I "discovered" it this is what my quest log shows. Again, I haven't done shit by myself, I wouldn't even have free slots on the plane to build it. Is this a bug ... ?

This is fucking weird. The Observatory had a friendly alien in it (I met him before elsewhere), and I can pick flowers (this is new, in the last few places I couldn't) and transfer Units to my account with that thing on the wall.

On the other hand, I cannot interact with the Observatory's control sphere (or what's that called) nor get blueprints. Maybe because I already met this guy elsewhere and exhausted all options there? Fuck this game, really.

The planets, while single-biomed do have some interesting features if you actually take your time to walk around for a while. They could be better, MUCH better, but they're not as samey all over the surface as people make them out to be. Also, the day/night cycle and weather can make a lot of difference in the looks.

I am a pro gamer with 20 years of experience in playing, making and brain storming games.

Read the following and remember it for life.

THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A SINGLE MOD IN THE HISTORY OF GAMING THAT WAS WORTH IT. EVER.

Got a Phenom II X4 965BE OC'd to 4.0ghz. Been using SSE Emulation to play a little bit. Only played for about an hour.

Tried the experimental patch with the original GOG exe, the CODEX exe, and the Steam_api.dll files. SSE Emulation still working with the experimental patch on all EXE versions, though.

Still crashing at the Hello Games screen.

I'm sure they'll get there. Last thing they want to do is release a patch that will cause more problems than it fixes.

I'm one of the lucky ones since I have zero issues on PC. what about high res texture mods for skyrim? the textures we got were laughably bad given that they were direct console ports

the high res textures have absolutely no performance hit whatsoever if you're using a half-decent graphics card because the vram is likely way more than vram on the console

also, something like skyui which makes the interface WAY more intuitive and easy to use on a pc

I covered the cut parts in the previous post.

To be frank, there were just not enough people to test the builds and the ones that did started finding issues really close to the release date.

We don't have the capability to test on a variety of machines with hundreds of tech permutations like big companies do.

Consoles were easy, because there is no variety in the equipment.

Also, we got pushed a bit by Sony to concentrate on consoles, so thank them. Sean always wanted the game to be PC first.

Did you read his AMA on reddit a while back?

>Q: You mention being tight-lipped on the PC version, and you've got your reasons, but will you be tight lipped in this AMA?
>A: Whenever devs are tight-lipped, it's normally just because they literally, legally, can't talk about a thing. Man, you would surprised how wrapped up most devs are in contracts and nonesense. Often for instance lots of devs will have a clause that says "you literally can't say the name of platform X". Knowing this it's really funny watching interviews where devs are squirming trying not to the word Wii or whatever when being asked about some industry thing :) - you see us say things like "well the thing about supporting... that particular console is..."

Basically he can't say shit.

That's the temperature inside the ship, which supposedly keeps it from falling further. When you're on a planet surface the ship keeps you safe from temperature and rad/tox, so it's not far-fetched to assume that it would protect you from the coldness of open space. The reason it's so low is because we shouldn't assume we're playing as a human who's only comfortable in the 15-25 degrees range.
Also the T-Rex walked on a ledge and that's why it didn't fall in the hole where the tree was.

>>
>>152089487
It hasn't been worked on. We had barely enough time to push the project as you see it.

There are only concepts as of now.

Base building would be easy to implement as a mechanic with a pool of building blocks to choose from (think Spore building design) and a texture overlay to make them have different colours. The main problem would be persistence since each solar system is its own instance bubble and when you leave it the building would disappear under the current mechanic.

Don't know much about freighters except vague brain storming about a couple of designs:

- bigger ships with x2, x3 and x4 the number of slots.
- a carrier type of ship that you can dock 2 smaller ships in, but gives you a tough penalty for that like having two ships diminshes the yield of your mining laser and damage of your gun in half due to the extra computing power needed to manage two ships... (Sean is very firm on players using only one ship, but this was talked about)

"the patch" is an experimental one ie. not publicly released and one you have to opt into. Developers do them on steam all the time because you can just revoke access to them and it keeps everyone's version consistent. If they were to officially release a beta patch into the wild it could end up causing more problems than fixing and continue to cause headaches for the rest of time as people install it from shitty google searches years later etc. etc.

There are three ways to indefinitely extend the life of a game: multiplayer, base building, and modding tools. By the way, specifically, a dev is hired with full training, would be brought in with understanding of the engine, coding, and the social requirements of working under someone (which include being intelligent enough to know better than this.) They don't need to be trained. Consider taking your exosuit helmet off on a radioactive planet.

All they have to do is add a green or some kind of colored circle on the map of your ship that shows you it's a safe landing spot (landing pads from shelters, from trade outposts, or those ship summoners).
That way we press E to land once our ship icon is right on it.
So we can stop wasting Thruster fuel every time we accidentally land a few feet away from the fucking pads.
>>
>>152097751
But you don't have to land on the pads?
>>
>>152097751
Even a fucking light on the display somewhere that activates when you'll snap to a landing spot would be great.

>>
there actually is a targeting thing for the pads, but you can't see it through your cockpit 95% of the time cause they made it force you fly so high above the ground

if you use the roll and turn to force it to make you fly lower it is easier to target a pad like that

Hey senpai.
Just dropping in with a quick question about galaxy hopping.
Does anyone know if, when you arrive in a new galaxy with a damaged ship, if it's the ship you left with (same number of slots and tech) or if it's just a totally new random one or what? Same for other equipment (exosuit, multi tool).

I'm trying to decide if it's worth it to farm up a 48 slot ship or not if I will just lose it on Galaxy hop

So if this game is single player only. Why couldn't they add a survival / base building system in game? $60 fucking dollars for a pile of emptiness only 3 races in the ENTIRE galaxy. All ships are the same no cargo ships no fighter ships. All weapons are the same. $60 the cost of a top tier game with insane polish and fluid game play. This has put such a salty taste in the genres mouth that almost no developer will want to create another space flight sim/exploration. NSM fucking ruined it because of the company's lack of skill and selfishness full of fucking lies. Star Citizen was way too ambitious and probably will never be completed. Freelancer released back in 2003 was probably the best spaceflight sifi combat exploration sim ever. Nothing really competes with it.

I was under the impression that a new galaxy was literally a new galaxy, each and every star system in it being a new and different one. Should I just lose the health boost? My shields are maxed and I don't think I've ever lost them for any reason.

I'm hesitant to believe it isn't possibly just dumping me further to the left or the right but on the same essential star map. I haven't made it near the center of the second galaxy, so I can't confirm the stuff near the center. I also see no real way to tell which star is which, so of course I can't just track back where I went in the last galaxy. This really isn't doing much for me.
>>
>>152101878
Yeah that's what i was getting at. I see your point on not really needing a base. But just something more in depth would have been nice. Like different storm types & different intensity lvls. Like class 1 2 3 4 or some shit low lvl storms only reduce your life support faster. the higher the lvl storm it could dmg your ship and if you get caught in a really high lvl storm your ship could not take off or crash unless parked at a trade post. Storms at higher altitude??? adjust shield power and weapon system power? landing gear control? I swear they act like a space flight exploration sim is some new concept and act like its never been done before elite dangerous is half the price of this game and offers more immersive environment. My anger isn't directed at you friend just ranting over here.

Oh.
Then get rid of the +1 upgrade(s).

just had a game breaking bug for the first time in 20 hours playtime.

landed on a planet with toxic storms right next to some nickel. i start looking around for calium and once I have some I get in my ship and take off. small bug that happens alot that sends you flying up into space happens but instead of it sending me up it smashes me into the nickel and i repeatedly take damage. shield goes down twice and I die. i respawn only to see my ship is now half clipped into the nickel, and the nickel that is clipping with my ship is unable to be broken. i get in the ship and see that the launch thrusters and the pulse engine are broken and then a toxic storm starts. i have approx. 15 seconds each time i exit the ship to mine iron, heridium and more to fix both my engine and launch thrusters.

If you are going to farm omegon then find a species that seems to drop it, or drop rare materials in general. Find a flock, clear the area of any shit that might get in the way of finding the little red 'poos' they dig up, and get comfy waiting.

THE GAME'S TOO FUCKING REPETITIVE
I'M ALREADY ON MY SECOND FUCKIN PLAYTHROUGH IN UNDER 30 HOURS ON PS4

I MAY NOT EVEN FUCKING FINISH THE PLAYTHROUGH

I BOUGHT IT FOR PC FOR THE BETTER FUCKING GRAPHICS TOO. BUT I DUNNO IF I'LL FUCKING FINISH IT ON PC

SORT YOUR SHIT OUT SEAN MURPHY OR I MAY NOT EVEN BUY THE FUCKIN DLC
>>
>>152107697
>Will there ever be multiplayer?
It's possible, but assume "no"
Even if it was if it exists in the manner they described it it'd be useless for organized play

>>152107697
>Are there any long term goals besides aimless exploration?
Well there's a couple of paths to follow but it's mostly a "make your own fun" kind of thing. It's not deep.
>>
>>152107974
>second playthrough
why anon

once you get to the center you need to stop playing until we get more content via patches or more likely paid dlc... then pirate it
>>
>>152104358
ALSO
>Distance to center: 164,052
>Travel through black hole
>New distance to center: 162,616
>Distance traveled: 1,302,934

That isn't even fucking possible. The fuck is this game on? Either that number is straight up wrong or it's going on some stupid "lul black hole pings you around Galaxy 20 times before spitting you out", in which case why even tell you that number?

How do I make my own fun by mining resources on the same 10 planets? I can't use it for anything besides my ship
>>
>>152108116
It's called you moved 1 million ly horizontally from the center, and 2k forward. Kek
>>
>>152066930
never happened to me. in fact, from far away they would look like they had regenerated but when i got close enough it would show that they had been mined already.
>>
>>152097751
Its absolute bullshit and if you have the wrong temperament it will just end up infuriating you but you can 'lock on' to landing zones if you roll to the side and kind of point your cursor at the pad or pillar-dock. You'll know when you are good to go when the little white oblong reticle pops up around the area.

In general its best to roll as much as you can as low to the ground as you can be(height limit is such bullshit) so you can have a better idea of whats beneath you when you land. Seems weird but it makes it easier.
>>
>>152108116
Yeah dude, you moved sideways.
>>
>>152108210
If you want to mine and craft there's probably better games for that
>>
>>152108151
How did you know, we got a redditor on our hands, get him!
>>
>>152108212
Even if you were moving around the center instead of straight at it, which I'm sure is the case either way, the max distance you could possibly travel around without overlapping is about 500,000 light years. Not even close to 1.3 million. If there are turns it would be possible but like I said, that would make the distance traveled number meaningless.

>spinning in the fucking air
>trying to land on a nipple with a ship that handles more like a space boat
>gek traders going by cursing and sending me rude aromas
>don't care I'm going to stick this landing
>perform perfect 900 over the pad facing straight down
>land in a tree and spin uncontrollably losing all my precious upgrades to terrain damage

Thanks sean

Why 500k ly, where did you get this random figure from? You do realize the galaxy seed was made 10x bigger in size since ps4 leak reseed debacle.
>>
>>152108662
>losing all my precious upgrades to terrain damage

It would've been funnier if you crash landed, essentially resetting the game shipwise
>>
>>152108935
It'd be nice if they had crashing in the fucking game!
>>
>need chrysonite
>haven't found it yet
>been to 45 different planets
>only source of chrysonite is the market and occasional deconstructing of upgrades

Reeee...
>>
>>152109049
I'm pretty sure that bug that lets you find crashed ships over and over again isn't even actually a bug, it's how they made it so you could find exotic minerals, because upgrade deconstructions, and getting lucky enough to find an animal that will dig some exotic elements up for you are practically the only other ways without paying. Maybe it is really hyper-rare and on planets naturally sometimes, but fuck if I know where.

Circumstance of circle where the radius is 164,052.5, the beginning distance to center of Galaxy. It leaves out the 1.5k Ly difference between starting and ending distances but fuck it, that amount of distance doesn't do shit to the missing 800k.

That's also implying that you are traveling along the circumference of said circle ("moving horizontally"). Traveling in a straight line from starting point to any other point 162k Ly from center would be much shorter.

I just bought one with close enough slots and built everything from scratch.

Haven't found a better multitool yet.

Sean, is that you? Were it not for the laws of your land, I would slaughter you.
>>
>>152109409
You don't start at the edge, that's why you can 180 and still be in the same galaxy going the wrong way, for a very very long time. You might as well start 2/3rds of the way to the center.

New thread,
>>
>>152109725
That radius is my current distance to center, meaning the circumference is a circle around the center on which any point is equally far from the center. Edge of the Galaxy doesn't have anything to do with it. Like anon said, this goes on the idea that you're traveling 20 steps left and 1 step forward. Only it has to be circular since the destination is a point and not a line.
>>
>>152109430
I have a model that looks exactly the same, but with 14 slots in a 4-6-4 configuration, letting me fit everything in and get everything connected. I don't think I'll ever get a new tool.
