It had a beautifully written story with realistic characters. Their problems made sense and they solved them realistically.

Making decisions actually mattered, and affected the game heavily. Every choice was written out so that no matter what you picked you got a well written branch.

Compare to this to Persona 4, where characters solve their problems by jumping on Yu's dick. Where you can be dating a girl and it will have absolutely no effect on the story. Where you're forced into picking the "right" decision, and doing anything else will negatively impact your game and give you nothing for it.
