No actually, I was a RL for HM/BRF and then I quit, until now I've only mained a warlock.

I fucking hate it so much when someone can't maintain their offspec, especially when they're usually fitted out with a full offset from extra gear we've given them. The amount of pugs/ zero gear random guildes we've had to pull in because a tank had a problem and nobody wanted to step up and switch to their tanking off spec is ridiculous. Why should I invite an unholy DK to my guild when I could invite a DK who can do everything instead? Every tank/healer maintains their DPS specs, so why can't dps do so as well? I'm not going to funnel all of our OS gear to someone just for it to sit in their banks because they can't learn to tank and then hold up an entire raid night.

Yeah, so in otherwords I'm trying to practice what I preach, I've kicked 4+ guides for refusing to learn their OS for emergencies and I will kick myself from my own guild I can't do so as well.

Yeah, Blizzard designed it so that upgrading your second artifact to 80% of your main artifact will cost you roughly 1/20th of your overall AP resources.

In otherwords, the increase in AP needed to upgrade your artifact grows exponentially with each upgrade, so where it might take 1000 AP to upgrade your main artifact, it'll only take 50 AP to upgrade your side one to nearly the same power as your main one. You can simply use your leftovers on your side artifact.

It was really different though. The word acquaitance is correct - I wouldn't call friend some dudes I run instances with once in a while - but really there was more socializing and a totally different atmosphere.
In vanilla, for example, my first char was a NE warrior. I leveled it up as Prot with a mix of instances and questing because I didn't know what the fuck I was doing. But I kept running into the same people while doing instances (no meeting stone btw, you either invited from your friend list or spammed in General in capital or in front of the instance) and build a net of connections from there. This does not happen anymore the way dungeon groups are formed now.
In TBC I leveled a draenei shaman and made a couple of friends there too. Back then leveling solo wasn't as easy as it is now, being in group helped a lot and some quests ended with elite mobs you could not possibly solo except with a pet class. Nowadays even without heirlooms you can right click-1-2 through everything and stopping and talking to people is detrimental to leveling.
In WotLK there was a very thriving craft market, especially for JC, and the vast majority of profession deals happened in trade in capital or Dalaran. At least once some random dude I never talked to whispered me asking for a couple of cuts, When I asked him how did he know I was a JC he answered word was around that I knew a lot of recipes and asked for fair prices. That kind of reputation on a server simply does not develop anymore in the current social environment.

I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing. It's certainly different. If you do pvp or raiding you might not care abotu this shit at all - your main socialization will be with your closed group. Still I think it was nice and comfy.
