Their whole post about Mercy really doesn't make sense, the reason why she is now unused and was in all honesty too weak pre patch is that she doesn't have anything to do. Yeah healing people takes a lot of focus because it involves tons of movement and decisions making but her healing isn't that strong and she has zero utility or defensive capability. Pre patch her fast ult made up for that but now she has literally no use.

She needs more healing, some form of panic defense, and some form of an aoe heal. They also need to figure out how to make damage boosting worth it because when she has to choose between healing OR boosting there really isn't time to boost when in a solo support situation.

Yeah, they came to that conclusion in the beta and sped up her ult charge rate, it worked because now she could get her ult up faster than the big teamwipe enemy ults and actually be of use.

The game is a mess right now because she isn't in the meta, there are no comeback mechanics and it's almost impossible to hold the first point on any map. Mercy used to be able to get her res up during the first push and that was a great diving deterrent, now though attackers can freely dive in for killtrades and get an instant advantage.

Overheal would give her something over the other healers. It changes the outcome of many match-ups and fights just because someone has a noticeably larger healthpool. Since it degrades over time and you need to be healing a full health target for it to overheal it also discourages pocketing one target all game and instead encourages you to overheal as many as you can. It's a neat idea but the problem is that a good Mercy is constantly switching targets, she's a single target healer and so that's the only way she is going to keep her team alive. In most cases she wouldn't be on one person long enough to get any sort of overheal going.

It could work if they gave her some sort of AOE ability, she could use that for non direct fire topoffs and keep her main beam on the important targets.

High noon is literally the single best long range zoning ult in the game, it's why pre patch he was still picked in most competitive games.

Again, the reason why Mei doesn't get used is because she has no impact with her mouse clicks, no damage and no utility. There is absolutely no reason to drop one of your already established heroes for her, she provides nothing.

It takes literally twice as long as her gun. How is that 'insanely fast'? Aside from that, it's one of the most telegraphed ultimates, giving anyone ample opportunity to fucking escape it. Oh, and the size doesn't even cover an entire point, so enjoy as the enemy stays right outside the edges and contests right afterwards. I'm not asking for it to be a team kill ability, all I want is for it to have some actual impact rather than just be a minor inconvenience.

It has nothing other than a sound cue when it starts unless by some miracle you are able to catch a glimpse of the tiny hand sized item she throws. 99% of the time you won't see it and thus no one knows where it's going to land, the best way to use her ult is to basically throw it straight up. Not only will no one see where it is but the freeze effect begins much stronger because of the delay in triggering.

Her ult has always needed a better visual cue, it's incredibly strong and only limited by the fact that she herself has no impact on the damage portion of the game.

Depends on your skill level.

Most people "stuck" at rank 55~ genuinely suck compared to the rank 60:ies. At the same, the rank 60 guys ain't really that hot shit. They miss shots and often don't understand positioning and key stuff some heroes should be doing.

Overall, a +10 skill difference will indicate that a player will breeze through the opposition. A +5 skill difference is someone slightly better than the norm but won't be able to solo carry if its that's his actual rank.

I'm not sure why you keep going, it doesn't matter if her ult gets buffed because she still won't get picked, that isn't her problem.

Her mouse clicks are worthless compared to all the other heroes that are currently being used and it won't matter that the ult she uses twice a map is better when her constant main attack output is minimal. She has no reliable damage, no reliable disable, and isn't a threat in teamfights outside of her ultimate which is already highly useful.

The bar doesn't go down while someone is contesting the objective. It goes down even faster and won't refill after 20 seconds, and they have slower respawn times. What your experience implies is that at least one person was on the objective the entire time and contesting. That's fair if you couldn't manage to clear the payload even once after overtime degraded. If it were Tf2 they probably would have won that overtime too (there's no meter and it ends when the attackers stop contesting by death or getting off the point, but as long as one person is on the objective it will remain in overtime).
