I ran out of things that I could find in Auridon so everythings got me going to Grahtwood.

I finished killing the veiled queen and it was sending me to Grahtwood, same with the fighters guild. I couldn't find anything left to do before going there.

It's not so bad but I do feel a bit underleveled and like I can die a bit too fast if I'm not careful, which I'm not to used to having to be.

Delves are little torches on your map, they should be black if you haven't finished them. Each one has a skyshard inside, plus theres more scattered about.

Toothmaul gulley is a cave near the coast by Tanzelwil, and its a Public Dungeon, which is like a slightly more involved Delve that also gives you a special kind of new emote as a reward

Templar leveling is like this;

Nord's are a safe option because they don't have passives that influence stamina or magicka. Just health though their last one kind of makes them the best tank by negating 6% of all damage, I think. Argonian would be good if you go magic templar. Orc and Redguard for stamina templar.

Oh forgot something, you can pretty much get away with just throwing most of your points into your preferred resource(mag/stam).

I understand that Craglorn is supposed to be a group zone. But obviously, it's super easy to solo as far as enemy difficulty goes. Right now I've completed a few delves and quests, but on one of those quests there was this bullshit, clearly intended for a group of at least 2. I managed to do it solo as well, though it took a bit longer than I'd like.

But that made me wonder if there are quests in Craglorn that can't be solo'd and definitely need at least 1 other player? Because if so, I'm not going to even bother. Impossible to find anyone who wants to run quests there.

Ebon alright but I think most high end tank will be moving onto "of the dragon" pieces now. You job as a tank isn't just staying alive in this game, you expected to also buff the entire group with warhorns every other minute, some shielding, maybe a self heal and unless your doing some brute damage trial boss, you're expect to pull some dps while you're at it.

Because bloodspawn give you 5k when it procs and volatie armour gives you 5k when it up, you have maxed out both your resistance with buffs. I know bloodspawn say it got 6% chance but really it feels like it up like 75% of the time.

They took that sort of, everyone can do everything kind of design. There's still optimal choices for different roles but the lines are very blurred.

You have options, it's just you have to be careful about which options you put on your bar at what time.

It's more about thoughtfully making your build (though honestly most builds are just copied) than having a shitload of keybinds

The main problem is not enough of the skills do different things.

Guild Wars 1 had a great limited action skillset. GW2 and TESO don't have as good of one because they homogenized all the buffs and debuffs. So skills have less variety in what they do. GW1 there were hundreds of skills to choose from and choosing the right secondary class and right skills provided extra synergy in your builds and made them more effective. A spiteful spirit necro would have more than 1 "punishing" hex, doing damage every time an enemy used a skill from multiple sources.

In GW2, they make all those same types of skills stack confusion on the enemy, so it's just one source of damage, homogenized. TESO has the same fucking problem. Why would you carry more than 1 skill that does the same debuff? You don't, you carry the one that uses your preferred resource and also is the "best", which leads to fewer options, which to start off, GW2 and TESO have FAR fewer skills to choose from than GW1.

Limited action skillset can work wonderfully you just need a huge amount of skills to choose from and make them different enough to make for more interesting builds and synergy.

I find myself constantly switching out abilities for different encounters, always thinking of what will be useful for this particular boss or situation and what won't work at all. I can totally see how on the surface it might seem that less ability slots means less complexity, but when you get down to it, you'll probably see how it's actually the opposite. And not having access to every single ability on the fly makes for a more challenging experience.

That's how I see it and to me it certainly doesn't feel dumbed down. Then again, ESO is the only MMO I've played that has so little ability slots, so maybe I'm wrong and just don't know any better.

I think TSW, despite it's boring combat, probably has the best example of the limited skills where you have to plan your synergy, as it utilizes (much in GW1's spirit) unique buffs instead of a generic +20% crit or +20 weapon damage, focusing more on amping up individual skills (of which the game has an absolute fucking *truckload*, something like 500+?) or categories of skills (all "bursts" or all "blasts", etc.) so that when you take such and such skill or passive, you pick ones that compliment it.

Builds and particularly team builds make it more fun and important.

In Games where you just have every skill available all the time and you just have a lot of keybinds, every single player of the same class has the exact same build and rotation of skills. Half the skills aren't even different they're just the same skill just your other skill that does the same thing is on cooldown.

Skill A: Does 100 direct damage, no other effects
Skill B: Does 150 direct damage, no other effects
Skill C: Does 90 direct damage to 5 targets

In WoW, Skill A has a 4s cooldown and low resource cost, and Skill B has a 12s cooldown and high resource cost. Skill C has a 6s cooldown and high resource cost.

So you use Skill B unless: it's on cooldown, which then you use Skill A, or you're conserving resources which then you use Skill A also, and if there's more than 1 target, you use Skill C.

GW2 there are no resource costs, so you only use skill A if skill B is on cooldown, and you use skill B off cooldown all the time, in the cooldown for skill A you'll use skill C even if it's a single target because why not? Just use all the skills off cooldown.

TESO has no cooldowns, instead you manage resources.

So you spam B without ever touching A or C unless there's multiple targets in which you'd spam C until there's just 1-2 targets left, and A wouldn't even be on your skill bar.

GW1 you have both cooldown and resource management, and...

Skill A: does 100 direct damage, low resource cost 4s cooldown, causes cracked armor on target, causes deep wound on weakened targets
Skill B: does 100 direct damage, high resource cost, 12s cooldown, does 200% damage on targets with cracked armor
Skill C: does 90 direct damage on 5 targets, high resource cost, 6s cooldown, causes bleeding on targets with cracked armor

So you'd use A, then B, then C, then a teammate uses a skill that causes weakness on a bleeding enemy..

Etc. It all synergizes.

Your skill rotation isn't based on just energy management or cooldowns, but also on how that skill synergizes with other skills you or your teammate uses.

I actually found GW1 more complex than WoW.

WoW I just picked a talent tree and ran through the same 5 skills most of the time. I had a few emergency buttons but that's really about it, and every single rogue next to me was the exact same build doing the exact same thing.

GW1 for different elite areas there were different builds that were effective, no one build was best at every instance for most classes (except Imbagon and the UA/HB monk healers), most people had to change up based on content they were running and certain team builds were better at some instances than others. For DoA it was ritualist Glaiveway spiking (and even there, 1 of the Ritualists was a different build and performed a different role, generating spirit turrets and clearing hexes from the Imbagon and buffing them with splintered weapon), for UW it was Terraway, for FoW it was Manlyspike, for HM BDS farming it was Assassin Snoway

Some classes were pidgeonholed into one "viable" spec, but that wasn't true for all of them. Mage in vanilla for example was able to choose between frost or fire, and also had a hybrid elemental build, all of which worked great whether in pve or in pvp and all played completely differently. Arcane was gimped though.

Yep. The difference between bronze, silver and gold key is how big chance it is you get a shoulder.

And while it's technically possible to get before veteran level it's rare. The dwarven sphere could have been a pet.

No, khajiits are for furfags, I play a lot of imperial disabler in morrowind or a brickhouse nord in oblivion. Skyrim you can far it pretty well as an orc with berzerker rage, my point is there has always been a way to make hand to hand "decent" and I'm ok with it just being decent.

DPS, Healer, I've even heard of magicka tanks though I don't know how that works. Magicka is inferior DPS than Stamina atm, but that doesn't really matter much unless you plan on doing Trials or maybe Vet dungeons, anywhere else you'll be fine.

Just got to Stormhaven after doing 100% of Glenumbra so I'm level 22 and overleveled it seems.

If you're doing zones 100%, you'll be overleveled until the end.

A lot of quests are part of a story chain, but many of them aren't locked. So you can skip ahead, sometimes unknowingly. In Glenumbra, for example, you can do the entire Wyrd tree quest chain without saving the lumber mill near Daggerfall. And once you go to the mill, the Wyresses act like there's still some kind of danger and the earth is still being corrupted or whatever, oblivious to the fact that you've already dealt with all that.

Basically, if you care about the story and find the quests interesting, you should do them. Some of the bigger quests reward skill points upon completion I don't mean just main story and sometimes other cool shit, like collectables and polymorphs. At least in EP.

Actually, any DPS gear would also work as healer gear. Might not work the other way around because healer gear almost always comes with things like "4% better outgoing healing" and things like that.

Adds don't spawn infinitely. What you see in the room is what you have to fight. Equip a resto staff, heal your ass, use LoS if you have to. And don't forget that block exists. Even on a magsorc it can be useful. Hardest part would be avoiding all the lightning, and that's not even actually hard.

But I agree, it should have a stealth kill option. Don't know why they force us to go in full rambo mode.

As for the actual difficulty of the fight, it's a DLC that's designed with veteran players in mind, so cp160+. That's why it isn't such a complete faceroll with a low level character it is, actually, but I'm not trying to make a point of "git gud"

I literally can't do either of the new dungeons. Not because I'm shit, either. I'd like to think I do pretty well, considering my gear and CP 200. I did vICP just yesterday and it wasn't even that hard for me. I was there for the first time and the team I joined weren't dicks and explained everything I had to do before each fight. We wiped twice in the entire thing.

With these hist dungeons I don't even get the chance. Everybody in zone wants cp531+ I'm cp200. EVERY TIME I join with dungeon finder, I get kicked IMMEDIATELY. 5 times this has happened so far. Fuck you, guys.

Nord Templar here. Seeking advice on how exactly to play Stamina DPS.

A few questions:

1. What are the big differences between dual wielding and Two Handed? Is one more AoE based while the other focuses on single targets?

2. With the (Relatively) recent buffs to heavy armor, what are the downsides of choosing to use heavy armor over medium?

3. Should I be focusing on getting my Weapon Crit higher, or my base weapon damage?

4. What Gear sets would be best? Is there a universal tried-and-true?

5. Any way to not rely on Biting Jabs? I simply don't enjoy that skill, but it seems like it's a central part of being any form of Stamina Templar.

You'll never be able to realistically contest dual wield dps, and Biting Jabs would probably remain best. Though of course 2handers have all kinds of fun skills.

Bows are a meme weapon for the most part. Their weapon damage and passives are just plain bad. You can get good single ability damage with Lethal Arrow, but it's cast speed is slow enough to make its dps garbage. Then there's Poison Inject which has become a cancerous PvP staple. People use volley and arrow spray, but I've never seen them be particularly useful. Middle skill is meh and has a terribly short range. All around, bows are meh. But they are a ranged weapon, so they are useful.

I didn't do dungeons until I was CP 300. Ya good.

Dungeons scale to you/the group leader so if you're level 30/CP 160 and you enter the dungeon as the group leader, it will scale to your level

I find the sub to be a pretty good deal, at least up until you get enough bag and bank space, just for the crafting bag. You start at like 50 inventory slots, it's suffering for a new player, no room for anything crafting related.

I gave it one month, and doing that alone got me almost enough crowns to just outright upgrade to gold when it comes out.

I think these are pretty low numbers all around. Take a good look at your armor set choices.

Your crit is good though (crit matters for healing), and your magicka pool will be better with food, but your spell damage is far too low. You need more like 2000 spell damage. And your magicka regen, also very low. You'll need more like 2000 there too to keep the heals going.
