The t-42 it's absolute shit. No armor, -5 elevation, crap mobility and a top gun that almost has less pen/alpha than a the one on a light tank of the same tier. The t-43 looks even shittier looking at the stats. What the fuck where they thinking.

Other artillery lines rely on memes (Russian t10 is accurate, Brit has vertical arc, Fat makes big numbers) but with the French you can do everything you need to, and you will learn best how to be arty-proof 90% of the time. (And the remaining 10% can be covered with just being annoying enough to enemy arties that they switch target.)

Though you forgot an important point: Even IF other arties were better in regular play a french arty player with redball mod can easily remove any competing artillery. Their shells travel so much faster, are reasonably accurate and have great gun traverse (or full turret) while being too fast to CB predictably.

The rebalancing is all sandbox shit which will very likely never make it into the game. The past half a year they have done nothing but remove maps, add premiums, and add HD models. This is probably the worst time to come back after a hiatus because there is literally nothing new. I would be happy if they finally started adding new maps or at least reworking the multiple maps they keep taking out of rotation every fucking patch, but they seem to not want to do anything at all.

t3 and t4 are generally very shitty. It doesn't help that the game has a very steep learning curve either. There is a big step between driving a tank and using your gun and using your armour effectively as well as abusing terrain and physics.

The armour part isn't really important until t5 and you can't abuse the terrain as long as you don't know the maps in detail which takes a very long time. It can be very frustrating. And it's never going to end.
