I don't remember how much attacks penetrates normally. I was thinking at pre wave 5 that perk would only make you wear your armor faster than necessary, making the perk just an extra expense. But i can definitely see how it's good against FPs and such.

Large update tomorrow so yeah it's still getting updated. There's 1 more class coming out after SWAT and more maps coming as well.

The game lost of a lot of players when the devs took too long to add "new" stuff to the game. Basically it has taken too long for people to stay interested, but there's always an influx of players with every update. It's starting to come together nicely now.

Almost everything with the resistances were reverted back. Pistol still feels weak against everything that isn't a crawler and cyst, gorefasts have higher head hp and bloats are insanely tanky. The shitty incap system is still in, so the old fun combos mostly don't work anymore.

I doubt it will even be Martial Artist. They're not even referring to it by name anymore, they're just saying the 10th perk "isn't what we think it is."
So I'm inclined to believe it will be a new perk altogether. And I've got a pretty decent lead on what it might be.
Remember that so far all the new perks have just been splits from the old ones.
KF1 Medic became KF2 Medic and SWAT.
KF1 Sharpshooter became KF2 Sharpshooter and Gunslinger.
KF1 Berserker was going to be KF2 Berserker and Martial Artist before (presumably) they changed that, or it could possibly still be Martial Artist but it won't be based off of anything from KF1.

So that leaves us with 5 perks that they could split in two.
Commando is practically the same as its KF1 counterpart.
Support is practically the same aside from the lack of shotgun variety, but that will be addressed with post-release content.
Firebug is the same; that is to say, useless and a waste of space.
Demolitions lost its pipebombs and will presumably never get the M32 back. Pipebombs were replaced by C4 of course but they don't act nearly the same.
Toxic is an underused weapon type and they're trying to get Medic and Demolitions to make some use of it, but currently they're both pretty limited (Medic's toxic damage is utter trash, Nuke only works in zed time.)
So I'm inclined to believe Demolitions will be split in 2. Demolitions as we know it know will remain a single-fire, spike damage/low DPS damage dealer, while a new perk will be created that can fire multiple rounds at once and possibly lay down traps/explosives that blow up on their own.

So, my educated guess is that the perk will be something along the lines of a Trapkeeper.
It would probably be a support/damage dealer, like SWAT. It will get its damage done with DoT and has crowd control for zeds such as panic and knockdown. Its top tier will probably be a grenade launcher that shoots either mines or grenades with a toxic area of effect to them.

Furthermore, my "evidence" to support this is just trends.
KF1 Demo had 7 perk gun if you don't count pipebombs (because they're not really a gun.) Out of those 7, 4 had magazines, and 3 of them let you fire multiple explosives in a row without needing to reload.
KF2 Demo will have 5 weapons soon, of which only 1 has a magazine but doesn't let you fire multiple explosives in a row.

Pipebombs worked as a trap that blow up autonomously, while there's nothing in KF2 that blows up/deal damage "on its own" other than door traps. I might add I think that skill will also be moved to Trapkeeper eventually.
The Seal Squeal kind of worked as an explosive that stuck to walls. I'd imagine Trapkeeper's tier 3 would basically be an evolution of that; it shoots toxic grenades that blow up when zeds come close enough to it.

It's a bit optimistic but a lot more people will start playing for the opt-in or official update when people see the kf2 banner has changed again, just depends how long the hype will last or if people even bother to come back.
No one's going to play if they already have all perks maxed and achievements unlocked unless they like to play with pubs.

I still think they'd have fared better if they hadn't blown their load with EA, I get that the "instant massive cash injection" is probably too tempting to ignore, but it would've worked better if they'd have just got it to all ther perks and then released. Demo is actually very strong right now you'd know that if you played the fucking game. It clears trash better than anyone with the m79 explosives, as well as dud headshots on sirens/husks/bloats even gorefasts if need to, and it absolutely fucks up scrakes with RPG dud. Fleshpound as usual doesn't like getting blown up much.

Some niggers still pretending zerk is shit? Go in the game and play a few HoE game. You'll see better players than you use the evisc to fucking eat scrakes and fleshpounds like they're candy.

Sharpshooter is sort of OP with his railgun and people are getting tired of it, I play more and more HoE with no railgun at all. Sadly, we see even less m14, it's been weeks since i've heard one.

Museum is a pretty subpar map as far as KF2 custom maps go (not including all the generic box 'defense' maps)
It lacked a lot of the clutter and debris found in official and better custom maps.
It's layout was simple, larger exhibit rooms connected by corridors. The overall small size of the map and lack of alternate path options made it a pretty dull map sadly.
I run a (HoE) server, so I try to keep in touch with players to see what maps they like and which they don't.
Museum was removed the same day it was added, it was unimpressive at best.

The theme is the best part of infernal realm, and is what I think makes it worthy of being an official map. The level design as far as playable areas are concerned is pretty basic, but offers enough disparity between its different sections for them all to feel unique as locations and zed defense areas.
My only real complaint with the map is the lack of clutter, debris and furniture along paths and in rooms. Playable areas feel a bit barren and underwhelming when they're all plain stone floor, even when they're surrounded on all sides by impressive scenery

They started out introducing individual characters. Okay, that's cool and all, but then they add zedconomy and fucking cosmetic sets. Now everything's a clusterfuck and they'll have to decide whether to bring back old characters as new people or whether to just make them costumes for multiple other characters.

They really should have just made a character creator with preset voices and allow you to select body-types and outfits, then they only have to worry about adding more outfits and preset voices. They're going to have such a hard time making cosmetics and having to rig it for every individual character now.

This update made the game FUN again.
Suicidal is the fast-paced mess I missed and loved. the new zed behavior makes you actually aim instead of shooting clots in a straight line for 45 minutes.
Support and Medic Perkchanges feel satisfying so far. Support has so much potential ammo it's insane and the medics combat drugs are very handy.

Wish Tripwire would've pulled their heads sooner out of their arse and started listening.

So I read a suggestion on KF forum saying that they should just make the battle scar/field tested skins and colors individual styles for a weapon skin/hat instead of having them all individually using loadout slots.

What does /kfg/ think of that? Would it be too much asking all those variations of the same skin be combined for one item, with you getting all of them if you unbox or find the skin? I can really see the inventory becoming a clusterfuck when they get to the 1000+ items.

I feel like Commando has a spot in HoE since he can extend Zedtime, and given how crazy zeds are now that can save the team.

In terms of playing it, it's really fun. It feels like I'm playing Killing Floor in the new Doom game, which makes me want a Doomguy crossover.

Speaking of crossovers, somebody should contact the creators of Duke Nukem forever asking if they'd be willing to collaborate with Tripwire to have the Duke put into the game. Somebody already ported his model to KF2 and he fits in great.

stalker/pat vision, zed time extension, and fallback perk getting a boost from 60% extra to 210% makes it better than the ar-15, bullpup and all swat's smgs (vector off-perk does 36 damage to sc and 18 to fp on headshot, 9mm does 38 to both with fallback)
SMGs only do better in DPS meaning you have to waste more ammo and spend more money to stock up.
You can solo a 6p hoe scrake with the ak or scar with or without large mags
FP you need to switch from ak to scar with or without large mags

Support is now a complete and utter god. Plain and simple.
Salvo+Tight Choke makes the AA-12 a SCAR with 10x the damage complimented by it now having a total ammo pool of 224 at level 25. You can snipe out everything but big guys across the huge machinery room in InfernalRealm with the AA-12 now.
If you have Barrage selected, which you 100% should, any big guy on your screen is going to die. You're going to completely unload every single pellet of every single shell into their head without retaliation. Killing up to 4 big guys in a single ZED time is possible with a Commando on your team easily.
Resupply Pack is ridiculously useful to your team by allowing you to provide more ammo than the previous Resupply AND provide armor.
Increased Carry Weight being a built in stat for Support allows you to carry an AA-12, M4 Combat Shotgun, and Med Pistol or Deagle. Alternatively you can take Double Barrel instead of M4 and off-perk almost any 3rd tier weapon of your choice. The M4 also now has a very generous ammo pool of 117 and the Double Barrel an ammo pool of 80.
If you thought day one Support was a powerhouse the current iteration of the perk is to go even further beyond.

As for Shadow Warrior, somebody should get the devs to contact the Shadow Warrior team. I could see them getting the Lo Wang VA to make a character in tie for the Shadow Warrior 2 release, or sometime after since it comes out this year.

the evisc has been the go to zerk weapon for HoE for a while now. It has no dowsides, you don't actually run out of gas unless you're a spaz, the bash actually kills gorefasts in 1 or 2 hits tops, you have enough ammo to kill a bunch of sirens, husks and bloats in addition to the SC and FP, thanks to re-usable blades. Some carry a crovel with it because it's faster to kill a bunch of trash and that's fair, but the pulv doesn't even compare. Pulv takes fucking ages to kill a FP and it's a bitch to parry with, even the zwei is quicker for soloing a FP as things were before swat, because you can heavy swing like 3 times during its attack animation and parry instantly for immediate un-rage. Which is irrelevant due to the evisc being both fast and more adequate for SC.

The beauty of weapons that don't rely on ammo to function effectively is you can go berserk and actually do what you want.

I play with the elitist tier of yuro HoE and the evisc is prevalent in zerk gameplay. It's just much better than the rest and allows you to kill scrakes in 10 seconds or so.

You have 250 fuel, I usually end up latter waves with 50-100 fuel left. You use it when you're getting surrounded or pissed off at trash in your way and by trash i mean trash, clots, stalkers, crawlers and gorefasts. Only use it when there's a big bunch of 10something zeds, they drop almost all at the same time.

The bash animation is slow but my point is, it's good enough for that lone gorefast in your way or those 2-3 clots you don't want to waste fuel on or bother switching to crovel for. I do use the crovel for those shits sometimes but the evisc bash works too.

The blades are still reusable regardless of how wonky it might be sometimes. I can tell you without exaggeration that I recycle something like 20 blades in latter waves.

By shitty with parry i meant if you use the pulv like it's good for against a fp, with the explosive, you automatically reload and find yourself unable to parry the hit. The zwei allows you to basically hit and parry at the same time.

The evisc allows you to kill a sc with 1 mag, very fast, without giving it a chance to do anything. With a melee weapon you've got all the shitty parrying and dodging his various attack mechanics and it's really really not efficient to let a zerk handle scrakes like this. You're much better off having a demo to decap it with RPG or an SS. Like I said, I never run out of blades and rarely of fuel with the evisc so I've never had to bash a SC in the head with it.

I don't use the EMP to decap scrakes, I use the EMP as emergency measure like all high tier HoE players I've met do. For a controlled decap, I just decap it quickly with a little backpedaling. Like I said, I don't run out of blades, even on wave 10/10 HoE with game conductor probably capped, I finish with over 10 blades in inventory

I don't control the blades, they just stop bouncing after 7-8 bounces and stay there. It's very common to have they drop dead where they hit the enemy too, kind of like the m79/rpg duds, so you walk on them without even knowing.

I also suspect the game of putting random blades in random places when you have the gun.

It doesn't seem like TWI cares about KF-SuperPerkTraining, they only really cared about hansrevenge and the testmap where you could spawn 1hp FPs and leveled up FB/demo to 25 after a little bit during InD.
At least with perktraining maps you still have to sit there and shoot just as long as if you were actually enjoying the game and getting the same XP for it.
And when people use the perktraining maps it's easy to distinguish them from actual players just based on the "beat hoe as X perk" is completed but no official maps achievements are.

The preview of the SWAT beta stream a couple days ago pretty much confirmed that Martial Artist is dead. Not only did they say the "datamined" 10th class isn't gonna be the one it's gonna be, but in the beta the Katana (the weapon that was supposed to be Martial Artist's new "thing") has been switched to Bezerker.

Though honestly I don't mind, having Katana finally affected by zerker perks again (especially when it can be carried with an eviscerator) is goddamn amazing.

cheers for that anon, unchecking and launching the game resets all your settings, but once you set them back and close the game you can set the file to read-only again without any issues.
