SABOWanon here. No screenshot dump tonight, busy day today, but I plan on starting my first campaign soon (previous screenshot dumps have been from single instant missions, SABOW has a dynamic campaign system with a turn-based strategy element that leads into the tactical-scale battles you've seen so far)- if not tomorrow or Friday, then this weekend.

Should I do an Iranian M60A1 campaign, or an Iraqi T-62 campaign? I believe there are also campaign options for Soviets in Afghanistan and an Angolan Civil War scenario, but those are less tank vs. tank centric from what I understand. I'm more confident in my abilities in the T-62 (and it has a better gun, and a gun stabilizer, and it isn't a fucking skyscraper), but the M60A1 has better rangefinding gear and the commander can actually take control of the gun which makes it a bit more useful for actually playing as the commander. If the game follows history, the Iranians (M60A1) will have better air support available, as well, as the Iraqi air force was all but eliminated in the opening stages of the war.

Have a night fighting picture I stole from some forum writeup for someone else's campaign playthrough. Both the M60A1 and the T-62 have primitive night-fighting equipment; visible light/IR searchlights and gen 1 night vision optics.

Cobra1 SEAD flight took out some SA-5s around the target site before heading north to kill SA-2 radars at a nearby airfield

Weasel2 Strike flight had it's flight lead(me) taken out by an SA-5 on ingress to the target due to fighting the aircraft/comms/HOTAS problems. Weasel22 proceeded to the target and destroyed the HV elements with LGBs.

Overall, bretty good. We need to sort out IVC for comms as we couldn't hear each other despite all being connected to the server. I have a feeling it might be a Teamspeak conflict but further testing is needed.

My take on it is because it is a multirole fighter. In DCS we don't really have any of those, they typically tend to be groumd attack aircraft like the A-10 or dedicated fighters with some AtG capbility like the Mirage. When you switch to BMS it is very easy to become to absorbed in one particular role and then suddenly find yourself in a world of shit when your at the IP for some kind of strike and you haven't designated the target or input the weapon parameters, or you are trying to find your target only to find you have a MiG bolted to your ass cause you were paying to much attention to the weeds
