This may not be a good explanation so bear with me:

The simple answer is that at some point in mid silver, people begin to have the most basic grasp of the game. Low silvers and bronze literally look like headless chickens to anyone at a plat skill level or above (not that my welfare platinum means I'm good)

Low silver and bronze never seem to have direction or intent with what they do, unless it's getting a kill.

Here's one way I've put it:
>Bronze has no idea what they're doing
>Silver knows what it looks like but not how to do it
>Gold knows how to do it but not why
>Plat knows why to do it but not when
haven't made it to Diamond so I won't speak for that.

Remember that while gold players are objectivley garbage, statistically they are top 30% of players which makes them above average.

Nasus early is always pretty similar, you want to stack and farm as much as you can without getting wrecked, if you're opponent and enemy jungler aren't mouthbreathers they will zone you out of cs.

Coin is pretty worth it in that scenario, especially because it builds into a good item later once you get stacks.

I just had the worst game ever on my fucking smurf. We're behind all game so I just tell these kids to play safe and they listen. We make it to like the 50 minute mark, and for some reason the people on my team decide to listen to our Nocturne (who was pretty much useless all game) when he pinged for baron. Even though the enemy team had three people down, it was only for about 15 seconds or so, which wasn't anywhere close to being enough for them to finish baron (Eve, blue Ez, tank Noct with Shiv). I didn't go to help because we had two inhibs down and there were a ton of minions wrecking our base.

Anyway, the stupid fucks go and do baron even though I pinged them not to a billion times, and what do you know? Their fucking Poppy and Lux teleport in from behind and they all get annihilated. Of course, I go and get two kills, but it doesn't do anything because you only killed their Soraka and 1/13 Ashe.

Moral of the story: for you fucking silver surfers who think they're hot shit and know the game, you're actually just shit and you don't know a thing about the game at all. Listen to the pings of the person who has the least deaths/highest KDA instead of trying to be the solo queue hero. Most of you deserve to be stuck in your shitter Elo anyway.

I think what throws a lot of people off is the curve that skill changes. It's a curve that has its lowest slope between mid silver and mid plat.

Starting in bronze 5, people are complete shit. As you move up the ranks, people rapidly improve until you reach low-ish silver. From there people are still better as you move up, but not as much of a difference. Then, when you reach mid plat, the rate starts to accelerate again and the difference between diamond and masters is huge.

People expect a linear progression and it's not. There's also confirmation bias and selective memory warping people's perspective

If by waking up you mean crying for Riot to nerf certain champions so dedicated mains who know the ins and outs of a champion can't perform better than someone who doesn't know said champion as well, then yes, they are doing exactly that.

It is unfair for Riot to remove Riven's animation cancelling because it takes away from mechanical skill, reduces the skill ceiling on the champion, and makes it so that your ping (something they have tried to make irrelevant multiple times by moving servers and hiding everyone's ping from each other) becomes even less relevant.

This SJW mindset is inherently harmful not only to the game itself, but to other aspects of real life. It is unfair to try and make things "equal" for all people. Not all people are the same, and this is a known fact, otherwise we would all look the same, act the same, smell the same, fuck the same, etc. This applies to all things, and I personally think that killing animation cancelling for Riven will eventually cause Riot to kill animation cancelling for other champs, which in turn will frustrate higher Elo players and cause them to leave the game en masse.

Her QC isn't exceptionally skilled or playing her better, it's an artifical barrier that you can't even see. If you can't quick combo, there's no reason to play riven. If you don't have some other resource explain what it is, you'll never know it exists.
