I have come to realize that 95% of players in the 50s are made up of exactly two kinds of people.

One are the CoD/Battlefield kids. Their aim and movement are passable, but they have no comprehension of teamplay or communication, and don't understand the concept of feeding the enemy team, and therefore tend to be far too aggressive. They almost exclusively play DPS heroes, often the most flashy and gimmicky ones. They instalock their hero and won't switch.

The others are the MOBA guys. They understand meta and composition to a basic degree and often attempt to communicate, but lack the physical skills to win fights. Their excessive fear of feeding, combined with a lack of confidence in their skills, means they're far too passive and will give up ground or sit at a choke point when a solid push is needed. They tend to either try to emulate pro plays they're not capable of, or rely on bizzare cheese comps, which often rely heavily on defense heroes. These players will consider their pick for longer, but lock them and stay on them throughout the whole round.

The last 5% are somewhere in between, and I tend to think they're often former Gold Novas or maybe MGs from CS:GO. They tend to use mics and be obviously older than the average player, their aim and movement are decent, and they have a level of understanding of teamplay. However, they seem to struggle with the more drawn-out and asymmetric fights in OW and the complexity of OW positioning and plays. These players watch eSports and almost always run an exact clone of a pro meta comp, and are very conservative in their strategies.

That last category tend to be the ones you want on your team. Get two or three and you'll probably win. They're not the greatest players and might struggle over 60, but in the 50s they're capable of putting together a decent game.

I don't see cohesion in his his kit, since it entirely focuses on "keep shit away" with no means of actually fighting or assisting the team or staying alive. There's no damage mitigation beyond your armor, so you're an ult-machine like roadhog, except you have no sustain AND no damage. He'd be pretty much useless except on KotH with cliffs and maybe Route66 cliff at the start. All in all, too gimmicky.

I must be the only one who actually likes KOTH. There are definitely issues with the mode, but it's the only one where I feel like I can effectively carry a solo queue team by simply killing all of the enemies, and there's no coin flip fuckery. People's picks also tend to be slightly less retarded on KOTH, too, maybe because players perceive both sides as "attack."

What the fuck is the problem? I swear, just like Hearthstone, WoW, Diablo, HOTS and Starcraft - ALL Blizzard games - it's Blizzard's arrogant development ideology where they always think they know better and won't accept anything other than their own thoughts unless their cash pool is affected.

My major downfall is map knowledge and team coordination. Like I know the map layout, but not the best vantage points, defensive points, or med locations. Also I struggle emulating higher level play because while I understand the basic concept of certain plays, executing them with a team of randoms seems near impossible.

You can't carry a bad team in this game like you can in COD/BF/CSGO. I realize that more and more each day.

I hate KOTH and think it's the OW equivalent of, lets say, the wild format in Hearthstone. It's horribly imbalanced compared to the other modes (standard in HS) and should be left as a separate play option.

They can't balance heroes around all of the modes unless each hero is different depending on the mode, which won't happen. It's a horrible mode just for that objective fact.

The maps are shitty. Linear straightforward symmetrical maps where at minimum 50% of the space is completely wasted.

As for the second point, maybe complexity was a bad term. "Variability," maybe? What I mean is that CS is a very static, repetitive, and predictable game, and individual play is mostly based on aim practice and memorization of maps and common spots where enemies are likely to be. In OW the positions of enemies are much less predictable, and you can't win 1v1s on pure aim in many cases.

I agree, ranked mode is stressful to play. I placed at 56, found it too stressful to solo queue, and stopped until they told me I got a free golden skin at 65 and I climbed to get it. Not touching it now.

Quickplay players don't adhere to the meta because it is, in fact, a fun game if you don't give a shit about losing, and there's no reason to give a shit about losing in quickplay for most people.

Im pissed at my high level "friends". When it was time for my placement matches we played 5 comp games and they all threw it because "its just a game". Then I asked them if they could try, and they said "you should be lucky you're playing with us."

How do I bully Mercy's into being better or quitting? Right now I go double Mercy, and when they ask me to switch I say "Someone has to do the healing around here". 150dps while spooling up for 1 second, 300dps in full go. Stopping even once means you gotta spool up again.
He can't heal in turret mode, but gets a temporary frontal shield on E that blocks 300 damage for 3 seconds with a 16 second cooldown.

Recon mode gets 30 ammo and can send out that bird for a one-time snapshot of enemy positions with a 20 second cooldown.

Turn more of his health into armor.

This helps him not getting turned into mush the second he gets focused. It will help idiots turning themselves into mush if they mistime their firing against Genjis. Still rips most shit a new one.
It incentivizes going out of turret form to heal and get some updates on enemy positions every now and then, as well as not being so damn helpless if you get caught outside of turret form.

Overall these changes make Bastion sturdier and more diversified, but because he deals less damage in turret form, it won't feel too bad for shitter ranks.

Everyone sees that thing from a mile away or dips out for heals the moment it triggers. If you use it in close quarters, well people stopped being bad enough to get solod by a widow the grand majority of the time so it's still difficult.

That comes with time. Just ult at the right moment, I didn't even ult into a graviton and I still got it I did ult through an earthshatter, a blizzard, and half of a death blossom though

The ones I'm having difficulty with are Sym's teleport achievement and winstons trap destruction
I can see situations where I can get almost any other but there's are real fucking tough.

payload map like hollywood. push ahead of the first point before it is captured and remain in hiding. You want squishy targets but not tracer. patience and listen for their footsteps. walk right up to them from the side and put one in their ear hole. return to hiding.

KOTH map like Ilios lighthouse or Nepal (the one with the adjacent pit) . first cap point on Hanamura and the last 10m of King's Row will work as well. you need to position yourself not only directly pushing them to the ledge but also be ready to move if they get caught on a wall. Once they're pushed try to keep fire off of them. you don't want to kill them as they are falling.

I nanoboosted and coordinated with a reaper prior to his ult. an ulting soldier or just a fully healed reinhardt is valid option as well. you're going to need a friend to make this work.

Medals are only good for telling which teammates are doing their roles. If you have gold damage as a lucio with a tracer and a genji on your team, chances are they probably fucking suck. If you really want to evaluate how well you're improving, do it with the average statistics, not with medals.
