Being the beatdown or the controller depends mainly on matchup. Midrange fall inbetween, and are able to do both very well. From a controlcuck perspective a midrange deck will always be the beatdown, to they'll start to label them as "aggro shitters" as they do with everyone that does not embrace their slow as molasses playstyle.

No one pretends Kripp is a pro, though he does have a down-to-earth perspective that's similar to and in tune with that of most regular players.

It was being put into OTK decks as deck thinner. That's a perfectly solid reason to make it 2 mana. Having 4 1-mana cycles is too powerful in a class with that much burst and it would push a deck archetype that is very unfun to play again.

The reasoning is good, even if the card is bad. It should have been released in an expansion, not an adventure.

I love when people stop using a card / character just because it got nerfed and it's not showing up in the netdeck lists, yet it still works in the meta.

Having 1 copy of Ironbeak Owl still works in Hunter more than ever since it's full of warriors with taunt, Minions buffed/debuffed by Yogg, Warlocks buffing Darkshire Councilman, Shamans with taunts / buffed minions, Sylvanas, Highmanes, the new deathrattle minions, etc...

Not to mention that it being a 3 drop actually is beneficial for Kings Elekk.

There is literally no downside in removing one Huge Toad / Flame Juggler to add 1 Ironbeak Owl.

tracking is very good now that you have call of the wild, increasing your chance to get it by turn 8 and end the game.

the downside of tracking only matters if you go to fatigue, which shouldn't happen when you have call in your deck
