Why is MM so shit? It's RNG based, inconsistent and generally bad. The artifact is also the worst one I've seen. at 100 its a 1.5 second cast 30k damage on a 20 second cooldown and it puts a path on the ground from me to the target for 50% speed boost....which I would never fucking use as a MM hunter.

Survival for comparison is a 3 second channel that does 50k in 5 hits with a 45 second cooldown except each hit can crit and often does putting it up to 100k, but there's more. It gets boosted by mongoose fury which will let you hit for 40k...each hit putting it at ~3 times stronger than MM...if it doesn't crit. Add in crit and you are in the one shot range of players. Not to mention the synergy damage from mongoose bite, MM has no real synergy with the normal rotation and the artifact.

The only thing that was interesting about that was healing with multiple ranks. It meant you had to consider what you needed to use, and made healing really complex.

Soul conduit is useless in BG's except for padding your damage without killing anything. It has no place in arena.

Phantom singularity has some utility in BG's but its for fucking rogues out of their opener in arena. having trouble with rogues? than this is for you.

Soul effigy wont blow up your damage on the charts but it will secure targeted kills when the time comes. It is top tier in arenas for pushing targets passed what they can heal/absorb and it doesn't need LoS on the target so pillar humping isn't as good for them and they can't get out of combat.

Anyway, it doesn't matter. Next Xpac race will be 100% cosmetic and have zero impact on the game. All races will be selectable for any class even if it breaks lore. Some favored racials will be integrated into pvp talents.

The bad news is this will bring back the trend in pvp from vanilla where all stealth classes were the smallest available race and all plate wearers were the biggest available race.

You may have noticed a trend of retcons through timetravel.

Also there is no reason a night elf or an undead couldn't be taught shamanistic magic. There is no reason a goblin or worgen couln't be taught the disciplines of the monks.

The only actual lore issues were DK's and Demon hunters and even with the DK's they let every race at the time have access "just because" only restricting pandas when they were added because of complete isolation. Going forward there is no reason demon hunter's couldn't teach other races their methods.

From the current unavailable class/race combos the only one that wouldn't make sense is Pandaren Deathknight but even that can be excused. Players are now unique snowflakes and I guess the Lich King found a wandering pandaren and broke it. Literally with a storyline such as the one WoW has you can shape things to your advantage on almost anything.

IF garrosh were to suddenly decide to time travel with a group of renegade shamans because horde dindu, and he ran to the undercity and taught them shaman magic then they would know shaman magic.....which they could do right fucking now if they wanted to without the time travel. There is no basis for class restriction by lore except death knights and demon hunters which they will be dropping in the next xpac in the name of ease of access.
