They should really link it even harder to factions. Getting raiders or spartans in base defense with plasma weapons is always weird and makes no sense. Check for mod conflicts.
Got back to it recently with all dlc and a bunch of mods, first campaign was horrible, especially in geoscape.
Removed free camera rotation since it didn't even work with the toolbox installed and everything went back to normal.
Might have been just a case though, Jake works in mysterious ways.

Yes if you customize them after they arrive at the Avenger you can switch them to the correct armor.
Sometimes cosmetic mods have sliders in the options menu that relate to the chance a random soldier will use those cosmetics

I'm on commander, and I've yet to see a Naja miss. I've had to abort several missions because a Naja squad was chilling out of range of my dudes and just oneshotting them.

The starting suits are fragile enough to basically not warrant using. Even on MECs that don't care about bulk like archers you still want the extra weapon slots from the later suits for more mines.

I think the earliest usable MECs are pathfinders, hit and run right out the gate is amazing. Endgame pathfinders are absolute monsters too, can hit upwards 120+ damage on single targets if you build them for pure crit damage.

Get the AWC as fast as humanely possible. Wounds are going to be humongous, and the last thing you want to do is be forced to send out a squad with rookies/squaddies against stunlancers, sectoids, and the likes who will more than happily screw you over.

Oh and speaking about stunlancers, on Legend you meet the force level for them to start spawning from day 1. On the very first mission after gatecrasher you may find yourself staring down a reinforcement pod of a captain + 2 lancers, when you're still using rookies.

Yes. The gals can actually see ethe nemies same as last time, but you sure as hell can't see anything. The terrain is so dark, its almost impossible to navigate, specially anything with building and fences. I recommend actually bringing torches and flashlights, or incendiaries.

Couldn't post earlier so sorry for the late response. You'll need to use melee early, so try to get use to that. Get captives whenever you feel it is safe to do so, they are critical for research and you will need lots. Crew members aren't really expendable, you want to keep them alive and get those well-statted veterants.

Read read read. There are tons of weapons and faction units and armor. They also have power bonuses and accuracy bonuses tied to stats and often have unique formulas for calculating how effectively can use them. Read everything in the bootypedia. The better you understand everything, the better you will play.
If you can avoid, never sell stuff, even if it seems useless. Everything can be researched, and most things can be used in manufacturing of different stuff. If you need to sell, at least hold onto as much as you can. I definitely reccommend holding onto everything until you know its junk, or can reliably procure it through manufacturing, fights/raids (consistently), or the market.

I can play Commander without savescumming, and almost always without deaths at this point. Any deaths I do get are near exclusively just to extreme bad luck in the first month or two. I/C is no problem for me.

Actually Heavy Gunships are clown cars imo. Always a brutal fight and the map is small. Tough factions are really difficult because breaking los is extremely tough and its almost impossible to avoid getting into an actual firefight.

I've been bloodied pretty hard by mercenaries and star gods, and even if the gunship is shotdown, the enemy number doesn't seem to decrease.

They had issues in the beginning of the year with increased traffic from X2 and someone was attacking the website as well. Eventually they were able to move UFOpaedia to new more stable servers, I believe thanks to some people with the openxcom team. However, while they were trying to deal with the attacks, they disabled user registrations, so no one was able to create an account to update the X2 wiki, so that was essentially useless. Also the head of the project considered stepping down and was pretty much afk which crippled them internally for awhile. The good new is that everything is almost fixed.

Also I strongly encourage for anyone well familiar with X2 to help out if they have the time to get the XCOM2 page back to speed so that we actually have a good wiki again. I'll post again when the site is finally up again and new user registration is allowed.

I've deployed on Gunships where I see three sectopods and who knows how many invisible ethereals outside as soon as I step out of the door. The issue is the map is so small you almost instantly hit all the contact, and enemies inside the ship deploy very fast.

Also unlike the frigate, its just a medium. Literally a traditional clown car.

To elaborate: had a blackout in the middle of a turn, went back to playing, did the same things in the same order and shit, yet the results were different.
First action both times was hacking a pole, both times succeeded, but the bar stopped at different points, not even counting some missed shots becoming hits and vice versa.
Reloaded again the save, and the result was the same as the post-blackout hack.

Next mission I did I made sure to write down everything I did just in case, and sure enough, the first turn went one way, while the reloads went another, though the reloads were identical.
Only seems to happen once per mission, though.

It doesn't really matter while playing normally, but I was curious whether it was one of the cheats messing with X2 or if it actually was vanilla behavior.

My favorite moment regarding that would be in long dong. There was a muton elite leader with a plethora of perks, and I managed to MC him. Alien turn one of his muton elite followers decides to be cheeky and take a shot at the leader from the open, unaware that the leader has Reactive Targeting Sensors and Opportunist. The follower misses, and the leader turns right on around with RTS proccing and one-shots him with a crit.

Most of the code is hidden, this is showcasing the force level setup for each ADVENT Gunner tier.

The thing is that the force levels for the T2 Gunner are exactly the same as the one for the T3 Gunner. They seemed to have copied over the T2 template for the T3 but forgot to change the force levels. The result is that Elite Gunners end up appearing a LOT sooner in the campaign that you'd expect. The only reason I dug into it was because a pod I met had a basic Gunner with 5 hp and then an Elite Gunner with 11 hp and a point of armor.

MC from poles has always been only one/two turns. It's not even clear how long it lasts, it seems to change whenever the fuck it wants.
I personally just avoid MC through towers since if it's at mission start, it will very likely control something on the other side of the map and activate every single pod because fuck you.
If it's the last pod, then I probably have won already, MCing something means I don't get to kill it, therefore less precious exp.
It can be useful if it hacks all robotic units, since hopefully there will be at least a couple and you can actually wreak havoc for a bit instead of having everything concentrate fire on one MC ayy and kill it in one turn.
You still have to deal with everything active at the same time, though.

I have 2 tabs opened 24/7, the first one has two generals from here, a patreon bypasser and a youtube video usually.
The second one has about 12 tabs from /trash/ that are replaced when they get pruned.
My browser automatically brings that shit up when I boot up my PC.

how do I get xcom 2 to stop crashing my computer

it just started the other day and it's really pissing me off. it crashed at least once every 30 minutes, and much more frequently if I have chrome open in the background for /xcg/ and music. It isn't because I'm running on a microwave either, aside from the crashes I still get decent performance on high settings. I thought it might have been because I disabled some mods mid-campaign so I started a new campaign and it made no difference. My computer did this exact same thing twice for a month or so earlier this year with warframe, and I was able to fix it the first time by just rearranging my desk (although that was probably just a coincidence) and the second time by switching it from Asus optimal to balanced in bios.

Not currently but they kind of had been before. I had put it in Asus optimal in BIOS after I installed my new fan (and the crashes started shortly after that) but when I went back into bios and put it on balanced again that fixed the crashes immediately. It's the exact same problem I had when it was on Asus optimal, but since it's just on the normal settings I have no idea why it's happening again.
