As a Charge Blade fag, I'm not really a fan of Aerial. Maybe I just suck at aiming it, but it's a hassle to build charge compared to Adept/Guild, and the longer dodge is anoying.

I find it easier to charge by doing the shield thrust and sidestepping into roundslash, only using the vaulting sword slash to top off if needed.

In general I only vault to get the super AEDs, and it's easy enough to get them on the head once you get accostumed to it. But I agree that at least Adept is more interesting.

You can join any deviant, 1-10, you don't need to have the quest or have completed the prior quests in the chain.

You can go out of order all you want, the armor still needs tickets 1-6 before the innate compound ability activates. (requires lv6 deviant armor)

To unlock the quests you need to first do the non-deviant quest so lets take narga for example.
You do the HR5 Narga quest, which unlocks the S.Narga LV1 quest. Clearing that unlocks Lv2, clearing that unlocks Lv3. However clearing the quests work like urgents, while you don't need to have the quest, if you want to level it up you need to host it and clear it.

LV1-7 are easily soloable.
8-10 its just better to have a group.

You can say what you want about how shitty the RNG is, but since charm tables have been removed you really have no excuse. They upped the rare drop rates on captures and even included a charm farming mission in the game.

Generally good designs, the hunts are hit and miss for me.

Misutsune is pretty and fun to fight, unless you want to break its claws. Gammoth is really neat but a drag to hunt. It fights exactly as you'd expect from a giant popo, meh. Astalos is kinda lame design imo but decently fun to fight. Its like a rath but with better attacks. Glave anus is kinda neat, but you'll get tired of him very quickly, as most of the good weapons are his deviant stuff.

Nakarkos is really cool too, his fight is fucking awful though, as most punching bag quests like it tend to be. I want to see more tentacled monsters.

How viable would it be to stack crit boost and chain crit/crit eye on pierce HBG? Chain crit procs off the multiple hits from piercing shots, so it's basically guaranteed +30% affinity on almost every hit. If you use a high affinity weapon like silver narga gun and hayabusa feather you'd be critting like, 80% of the time for 1.4x damage? Does the math work out that you can beat out normal attack boosts like that?

For every game up until now it was bow. Something about different charge levels, different shot types, different shot levels, different arc shot types, different coatings and critical range all sounded way too complicated and I never bothered getting into it.

I've been maining it in Gens so far though. Not really sure why I so apprehensive - half of the shit doesn't even matter, it's pretty much just charge your shot to full and fire from the correct distance. Knocking shit out of the sky is great fun though.

Otherwise I use pretty much every weapon, or at least know how to. What's your hang up with Lance/Gunlance? Funny you should group them because they don't play very similarly on the whole.
