If you're use HA-heavy weapons, such as ultras, or abuse greatsword WA HA, I highly recommend running somewhere around 35 poise absorption (The stat disaplyed in your equipment screen). Ignore the anti-poisers. They don't use non-meta weapons without hyper armor and have no experience with low poise.

I got lucky with the Black Knight in Undead Burg who dropped his BKS, and that thing made the game far too easy for me.

Bosses went down so quickly, and I killed O&S with little difficulty on my first try. I feel shit about it still.

At least, though, BKS is what got me into great/ultra greatswords. I don't regret it in that regard.

Why don't people with high FP utilize the Twin Princes' Greatsword? Sure, it's AR is pretty bad even with a quality character and slightly worse if you're going for a pyromancy/faith/sorcery build, but it's weapon art is what deals the most damage and is very unpredictable in the right hands, so I'd assume anyone who is deciding on using magic would have one.

Sacred Flame has massive hyper armor (although you probably don't want to trade a lot if you're a caster since low HP), decent tracking, and will demolish Greatshields (if both the sword and fire hit).

It's a weapon that THRIVES off of FP, so I think casters would benefit from using it.

I haven't tried it on a magic build, but after using it on my quality build and realizing I could only using the weapon art 4-5 times before having to use an Ashen Estus, I figured it'd benefit more in the hands of those who utilize magic builds.

Alright, so your rolls are longer, you can do a rolling attack a few frames faster and have no poise during recovery, that are the only differences. No changes in startup, iframes, total animation length, stamina recovery and stamina usage, correct?

Are the brigand twindaggers worth basing a playthrough around?
I have a half-assed, half-finished quality build lingering at the end of NG with tonnes of spare upgrade materials and I kind of want to fetch them some NG+ rings so they're at least all prepped for the DLC.

I've noticed something. against most enemies in pve, it only takes a pair of R1s, like a single combo, to activate the OWCS passive effect.

In pvp, that's not the case. It pops up every now and again, but it definitely takes more than 2 R1s, or R1WA to trigger it.

One more hour on Drake's FC lads, then I'm going to go level my hexer in DaS2.

Anybody know if it's possible to host an FC in the Ancient Wyvern's area if the meme king is still alive?

Remember in the network test, when everybody ran SANICFAST?
That was originally intended to be your running speed because the game was originally being designed as an OoT open world game in which you'd hoof it between zones in a large overworld. The running speed was designed to be obscenely fast so you could cross those large distances without it becoming too tedious.

When Shibuya was canned for wasting all of DaS2's budget making a zelda game, this plan was obviously scrapped. In the eventual game, the running speed was slowed significantly, to be more appropriate for souls gameplay, but the running animation wasn't redone because they were already far too late in the process to be able to redo animations.

The result is a running animation that looks like you're sprinting much faster than you actually are, and footfalls that consequently don't line up correctly with the speed that ground is moving beneath you.

Also, if you're used to DaS1 and 3, where the running animations are almost identical and both done via keyframe animation, then the mocapped animation of 2 will seem like the odd one out regardless. It's sort of like going between 30 and 60 fps, the extra in-betweens can seem uncanny for a while if you're used to the former.

Scaling in DaS3 is a % of base damage. A weapon with shit base damage will have shit scaling, no matter what its number is. That's why most weapons in the game with super high scaling letters have lower base damage to compensate.
