I was really hyped to come back to WoW n play my warlock.

Affliction wasn't fun. Demonology was just okay, a bit spammy. Destruction was just utter trash, a butchered spec. Turns out, my favourite spec was destruction :^)

I just rolled a shaman n used my boost on it. It's fun. Just a shame about how ugly mail is.

What classes have ever had to press 24 buttons every fight? Having more buttons meant you had more options for utility and the such, rotations are pretty much all more complex than they were in Vanilla so if anything you may be pressing more buttons per fight now, they're just always the same buttons.

It might be a bit undertuned, but it's viable for all content other than like mythic+9 shit. A lot of people will say that disc is awful, but they're probably just bad and miss their old two button spec. Or, they're not disc priests but have run dungeons with bad discs, so they think the entire spec is garbage and worthless.

If you like disc, you should only really be too concerned if you're at the absolute top of the game. Even then, I think there will ultimately be a place for disc.

Disc > MW > Holy Priest > Shaman > Druid

I think disc is above and beyond the most fun, but MW is fun for a more traditional main healer that can respond better to sudden changes. Disc is more about getting sustained healing, but lacks in "OH SHIT" recovery mechanics.

The illusion was fun, because every level you got the illusion of character progression. I don't feel like my character is growing in quite the way that I used to.

But I do agree in part, the talent trees didn't offer that many choices. There were a couple of unorthodox specs that people discovered, but Bliz liked to nerf these. I think I liked the illusion that maybe if I spent enough time I could discover a unique high performing build. But of course that never could have actually happened.

Sure it was more challenging back then but it was just artificial difficulty since mobs had much higher healthpools and damage output.

Reminder that in vanilla you could easily die if you accidentally aggroed an extra mob while questing. A normal mob mind you. It would be unthinkable for a player to die to a normal mob these days even if there were 10 of them chasing him.

Shitty logic, entire specs weren't viable in Vanilla, yet we kept the spec system. Nobody wanted me to be Affliction because of the debuff limit, nobody wanted an enhancement shaman because resto, nobody wanted a feral druid because resto.

Blizzard could have instead chosen to spend time balancing talents, but that's less easy then having us chose between different spells we already had.

What spec should i level my warlock as? I like demo, but the start up time is kind of stupid for questing, mobs are dead before you have a significant amount of shards for Hand of Gul'Dan and Doom is never up long enough to do anything.

I think the issue with Ethereals is people getting motion sickness when playing as them. If you have a rogue, go use the pickpocket with the illusion glyph on them. Moving around on them has been reported to make some people sick.
