You are probably getting carried in dungeons because almost everyone has items that scale with their levels (heirlooms), while you have regular gear for your level, which has a massive power disparity when compared to heirlooms.

By the time you hit the higher levels, you'll start understanding more shit. And don't forget to just ask when you don't know something, not everyone will sperg out.

Doubt it, but you just have to think about it for a little bit. Sandman's is actually a really good single target trinket now but dogshit for aoe contrary to 6.2, because it can only enhance your combusteroo burst window really. Class trinket+Flame Patch talent is a really strong combination on anything cleave/aoe if the targets will be standing in flame patch and live long enough for a few ticks and your class trinket is heroic or above (mythic or heroic wf can actually be used as single target if the boss will stand in the flamestrike for the duration of the flame patch). Prophecy of fear can do decent damage on aoe as well with cinderstorm because each cinder counts as a hit.

I had the same dilemma, in the end I decided to go with Mage because PvE is a lot more important to me than open world and leveling. Not to mention Mage can do them too, though not as easily as Warlock, but it's not a biggie regardless. I also like Mage more thematically, got tired of being felfilthy edgelord. I suggest you to ponder which one is more important to you and then make a decision around that.

Now I am trying to choose between Rogue and Mage...

To be fair WoW is over a decade old now. MMOs that last that long are very rare. But you're right, WoW became a cultural phenomenon and hit it's peak in WotLK and there's not much that can draw people back since everyone already knows what WoW is and how it works. There's nothing new or interesting about WoW, it just is. It's lost it's mystique and the ability to draw people in.

A lot of MMOs do individual things better than WoW, like combat or PvP of graphics. As an entire package though nothing really comes close to WoW. I've played a lot of other MMOs like Final Fantasy, TERA, Everquest 2, City of Heroes, Dungeons and Dragons Online and a few others. I always come back to WoW because even though those games have things that they do better than WoW, they have huge gaping flaws that stop me from enjoying them long term

How come my 686 ww monk alt in tanaan and tw gear deals equal or even slightly better dps than 710 pvp gear fire mage and 710 pvp gear bm hunter? None of them has any sort of good trinkets, on pvp chars it's versa and crit trinkets, on monk it's tw vendor trinket and archi lfr trinket.
