Ascension with mats, new mats every new Order since America
Improving stats with fous.
Quartz fragments with weekly missions
Story and free quests
Interludes that are either quartz, skill/np power up, or a new skill.
Equipping CEs
Burning what you don't need.
Farming daily quests for skill/ascencion mats.
Turning extra 5* into graphs
Using Grails to give more stats. Super Effective for low rarities.

The thing is, if all these features were at launch, everyone would think of them as basic.

Even Bond CEs would make for a better anniversary feature.

See, I pretty much got what I was expected. I knew there was no way in hell we were going to get something grand like a free 10-roll every day for a month or anything retarded like that. All I expected was a paid gacha (which we got) and an event gacha with some form of rotating rate-ups (I expected a rerun of limited Servants; getting a rerun of story Servants isn't bad either). Everything above and beyond that was icing on the cake to me, particularly the huge wave of Strengthening quests and ESPECIALLY the permanent gacha discount. I rolled a ton of quartz in Ozzy's gacha and I was STILL thrilled by that.

I meant shit like the garbage battle UI at launch, the REALLY bad early events like the Bronze event, how GOD AWFUL Quick teams were, and shit like a large chunk of ascension items required for basic Servants not being obtainable until months into the game's lifetime.

There have been a lot of little improvements to the game that have added up.

And if you ask me, the only bad events were the Bronze event, the Dango event, the Sanzou event's second half, MAYBE the Rashoumon event, and MAYBE the Halloween event, because holy shit was that actually a shitshow back when it happened.

Things like a single buff from Grail Ascension is not unreasonably high and yet what they provided is infinitely worse.
A free 4* even had precedent and I am willing to label that unrealistically high but only so because they have shown time and time again how stingy they have become with actual tangible rewards that are not luck based.

To turn your point around: The problem with the shills is that they lowered they expectations so far after repeat disappointment that their "expectations" serve as a motivator to put zero effort into the game by the developers. In other words, your post in a nutshell. That is not how a regular person, or a regular player, thinks or should be thinking. From an industry standpoint, DW bullied you with repeat disappointment into expecting so little that it was impossible to not meet that threshold.

And all these improvements are things any reasonable person and player would demand from them, not kiss their hands and bow for them "voluntarily" making them.

And again, from an industry standpoint, DW is doing a horrible job at customer satisfaction. They are almost quite literally providing the minimum possibly and get away with it because of their monopoly on the fate IP in the mobage business.

The horrible Grail Ascension is just the latest underwhelming crappy addition with zero effort involved, and while it is an exceptionally huge failure to impress or even satisfy, it isn't the first or the last to do so by any means.
