Move all the saves back to the folder they're meant to be and test.

I had a similar problem during my last playthrough. It might be caused by the Vaermina quest (even though USLEEP fixes it). It was the first quest I completed, but I only started having problems after like 40 hours of playing. After some testing I found the saves to be (more) reliable when they're all present.

Hey there, is there a way to stop the game from ctd-ing all the time when you put some mods on? My PC is good and I am sure I am doing things right with using loot and double-checking my mods(this include some loverslab mods) and skse. The game is fine running when I am playing a solo character but when I start recruiting several followers(like about four), getting that gypsy eyes caravan and travelling a lot then things starts to go to bad and I constantly crash to Desktop most of the time. Any guide that would improve performance would be of great help guys.

Damn. My game took a shit last night and it took me over 3 hours to sort out the 100+ mods and fix it.

The lighting got all weird in a dungeon and the smoke effect went opaque and full retard. I tried a hard reboot but then the game wouldn't start. The load menu wouldn't pop up and I would just get the imperial logo.

Uninstalled game, deleted all folders but kept the mods in the NMM, and started running mods in groups of 5-10.

Turned out it was the enhanced light and fx mod was causing the glitches, causing Requiem not to load the menu. I uninstalled/reinstalled that mod and problem solved. I'm glad I got that sorted out but damn, I hope another mod doesn't do this in the future.

It's either Requiem or something else in your load order that did it. ELFX is fine. I've used it for a year or two on and off. During that time, I've had problems, but they always come down to something else.

Recent example: During my run through Vigilant, I had issues with the crashing just after loading my save. The loading screen with my level on it and everything would just vanish to the desktop without so much as an error message. The cause turned out to be a conflict between two versions of Grimmy's plugin. VioLens uses an old version. Spell Crafting for Skyrim uses a recent one. Uninstalling Spell crafting and cleaning out the leftover scripts completely stabilized my game. I put 15 - 17 hours into Coldharbor after fixing the problem without experiencing a single crash.

But I digress. ELFX wasn't on at the time. Whether I use it or not depends on whether the ENB I'm using at the moment calls for it or not. It's just an interesting story, at least to me.

From what I remember about NMM, as it's been a while since I switched, it's more confusing about overwriting stuff, and it actually installs mods directly into Skyrim.
MO installs all the mods into a separate folder (where you can sort or merge them, or use patchers on them), and then only applies them to Skyrim when you load Skyrim through MO. That means you don't have to reinstall the game all the time and it's much easier to activate, deactivate, and reshuffle mods without breaking everything.

It's very easy. Most of it is self-explanatory, you just need to remember to run applications and patchers through MO by registering them there.
Profiles are super-simple. You install mods, and then you can tick/untick the mods you want to run. Through a simple drop-down menu you can save different lists of ticked and unticked stuff, if you want.
(For example, you could make a profile for porn with FPS-eating mods, and a profile without porn and without script-munching monster mods for actually playing; you'd just automatically tick/untick stuff as you switch between profiles.)

Skyrim's entire problem when it comes to combat is that it's trying to be more like an action game and less like an RPG.

Morrowind still has the best combat in the series because your stat and skill choices actually matter. Yes from an interactive standpoint it's still just as simple, but all the shit like spells failing and missing due to poor agility really added to it.

Bethesda needs to add more RPG mechanics and needs to stop gutting them.
