I have no desire to play this game anymore and it looks like a bunch of my friends have abandoned it too.

Say what you want about TF2, but during its prime they knew how to keep the game interesting with its updates. I can't recall a time I got more excited in vidya than the years ago when they had shit like class and halloween events.

If the developers gave two shits about esports balancing then you wouldn't have an entire roster of garbage heroes and more than two supports that matter.

Wilson requires a ridiculous amount of team coordination to be useful and that usefulness is entirely dependent on the enemy composition to a more signifigant degree than any other hero in the game.

All the other tanks are generally good picks.
All the defense heroes are generally bad picks.
Lucio and Zen are the only supports that matter.
All the attacking classes are viable.

Winston being the least shit of the shit classes does not make him good.

I've slowly been climbing from 44, but only when I feel like playing because I'm in the zone and confident in the moment, and ONLY the heroes I actually feel like I know enough about to do (Pharah, Bastion, Hanzo occasionally). And I mostly win by being erratic, sticking to objectives, etc. If I had a mic it'd be best because I'd like to call out people I see while fighting, but mostly just quickly slam it into chat about a Tracer sneaking up or a Genji or whatever.

If countering Winston was as easy as swapping heroes then pros would have done it. They play the same game you do and have access to the same heroes as you do. So what's the deal with the one thread frame lag?

I've read a lot of conflicting information and I don't know if it's permanently enabled or only enabled when you unlock the fps.

For those out of the loop ow engine purposely delays showing you what's on the screen by 1 frame so the physics and other things can catch to the main graphics. 1 frame lag @60fps equals to roughly 10ms of delay and @300 fps equals to 3ms lag.

Ana and Widow play completely different. Ana has much different positioning play because she can't grapple or shoot through teammates. You'll spend like 75% of your time as Ana shooting unscoped from medium range, because her sleep dart and grenade are much less effective at extreme ranges, so you need to get used to projectile speed. Which you also need to used to for her sleep dart, which has an additional delay on firing.

They're just really different characters in general.

I was playing comp on route 66 the other day and the defence part was tough, both teams really evenly matched, a good game. We needed to be on point to push the cart, but we'd managed to stop the other team just short of the finish. Then one guy who'd been a solid s76 on the defend decides to pay torbjorn. Someone politely pointed out that he was being less than helpful, and eventually the while team was moving him in spawn, pinching and shooting him pointlessly just to show how pissed off they were. Game was ruined and he contributed nothing, we lose.

Why would you just sit there, knowing you had made a shit choice and just go "fuck these guys"? I genuinely don't understand the mindset.

46, started at 45, went down to 44, then up, then down, then up a bit. I mostly just avoid Competitive because I take failure hard even without people screaming into mics at everyone, and because I haven't put in the time people here do because I have a security guard job that takes a lot of time.

I made it a rule to not play a hero competitively unless I've made at least 10 hours on them in quick play, or if there really is no other option possible right away. I know people are like 'Bastion a shit' but it's been a good stop-gap until I find another hero I can play on Defense I'm good at. I mostly pick out a youtube-reocmmended sentry point and hover around there for each checkpoint, keeping aware of genjis or tracers sneaking up. I don't care about medals or POTG gets in defense, it's just try and cover the point while the other guys manage the front. Usually we win.

Since the changes I find it a lot easier to defend on sudden death on certain maps

Dorado is pretty much a free win on defense because of the distance you gotta push the cart. That choke point beneath the bridge is a killer

But yeah Defense really is awful for 90% of the game. Sucks shit that the defense heroes are pretty much non-existant
