I've been working on an understanding of class power from the perspective of class speed and health. Disregarding weapons and damage, I've decided that heavy has the most potential because he has the most hit points.

Ideally, shotgun heavy is the most powerful class. In theory, a shotgun heavy is the most effective and mobile class.

Consider the hitscan's ability to damage instantly coupled with a heavy's hit points; You've got a juggernaut of staying power on the battlefield.

How the fuck do you deal with a Pyro who is at really close range? I can seem to land my pipes brilliantly at mid-range, but as soon as it comes to Pyros within Flame Thrower range, their sudden movements just seem to outmatch my aim. Any constructive tips?

In Overwatch, compared to TF2 everyone got nerfs to mobility and counters got played up. Because of this Tracer is the best character in the game (i.e. pro teams run as many as 3 Tracers at once). Blizzard saw this and nerfed her best counter, because he was being used too much to counter Tracer.

Also D.Va is almost an exact copy of Heavy except the minigun does 25 DPS instead of 250-500 and Blizzard said that was fine.

I think that Overwatch should have like 10-15 heroes, and mash some of the current ones together. For example Lucio, Bastion and Widowmaker are all very boring, one dimensional heroes. Some of their attributes could have gone into other flat heroes. They stretched the potential depth of the game across 23 heroes just so they could say there were 23 different heroes.

Most of the heroes only have 1 weapon at a time, which makes them even flatter. Maybe if each character had 2-3 weapons at a time, and 1-2 abilities, the game would have more depth.

That being said, there are some interesting characters, such as D.Va and Junkrat.
