It didn't. OWB was the wacky zany bullshit people hated about FO3 wrapped into a single DLC. Dead Money was absolutely atrocious if you're not into survival horror and if I wanted that I would have purchased STALKER and not Fallout. Lonesome Road was an abomination of man with such a mixed philosophical message that even Nietzsche would consider it edgy. The only half-ass decent DLC was Honest Hearts and even it was mediocre. The overall running theme between them was good, the actual DLC was shit.

One note to make about these visions is that the BoS, Railroad, and Institute visions are all mutually exclusive, and require you beat the game with that faction.

The Minutemen vision only requires you help them retake the Castle.

Its actually possible to get a BoS/Railraod/Institute vision, then give her more drugs, and then get the Minuteman vision next.

Vicious Wastes has an optional feature I don't use: bleeding damage, which you can only cure with bandages, made from clothing. Maybe in my next playthrough I will use it.

Just downloaded Feng Shui for New Vegas, item placement mod. Now I can finally make my masturbating bathroom.

Look at that video. Gopher's mod setup makes RWD incredibly unbalanced. The guy has an insane carry weight (355) and a shitton of chems and meds. When he stops using the mod, he actually gets hit and crippled. He handwaves it as "if that happened to me in RWD, I WOULD HAVE DIED", but he can't get hit at all because every NPCs dies in one shot, and like his comment remarks, there are only two instances in RWD: dead, or in full health.

RWD just isn't balanced like Vicious Wastes (+ the mods I described) are. Not to mention if you don't use Project Nevada's cheating measures like Bullet Time.

If you want a hardcor experience, use those mods I mentioned except RWD and Painful Injuries. The latter is not fun at all when one shot cripples your entire body and makes you extremely easy prey.

There's also a NCR quest whose sole objective is to go into a cave and recuse two guys. Its a literal one objective quest thats like Skyrim radiant tier, and effects nothing in the game.

While I don't want it removed entirely, theres a quest were a ranger sends you to rescue some NCr soldiers who are crucified in the middle of Nelson, however, ANOTHER quest from the NCr at Forlorn hope lets you take the town, and even if you take the town first, the sliders wil remain up there. The entire quest with the ranger needs to be cut and integrated into the Forlorn Hope quest as a morale booster. It being separate just creates bizarre scenarios, and contradictions between what the ranger says, and what you can do in another quest.
Obsidian also spent a fair bit of time needlessly making every one of the factions MQ's have their own separate quest name and scripting, when all they do is send you to complete other quests in the game like Volare, or the shit with the Omertas.

Had they just made all these side quests have multiple starts, one from each of the faction's leaders who assign it, and multiple possible ending objectives that point you back to your faction's quest giver, they could have saved a fair bit of time compared to all the time spent making these "main quests" that were simply nothing more then place holders that told you to do other quests in the game.

Thing is, this makes sense to me because they are essentially fighting for the same reasons, which is to take Hoover Dam. It makes sense that Caesar, Mr. House, Yes Man (and I don't remember if NCR too) try to have you make contact with the Boomers, for example.

I do agree that there appear to be more faction main quests than there actually are. Essentially you are doing the same quest, but for a different faction. The good thing, however, is that if you have done them before an NPC asks you too, you can easily complete them on the moment.

New Vegas's quest list is just massively bloated because its apparent Obsidian really had no idea how quest scripting worked,= in gamebryo, so they made a whole lot of redundancy, and split a lot of single objectives off into their own quest when they didn't need to be, apparently because they were afraid it was going to break or something.

Like bitter Springs for instance has

All of which are just single objectives that could easily be turned into one quest since they are all done to get Bitter Spring supplies.

Objective tracking. Keep in mind that you couldn't turn off certain objectives. For Bitter Springs, that means you'd end up with an assload of markers on your compass, none of which have been clearly linked to an objective. Okay, then let me give you a perfectly normal scenario: Raiding a town.
Whoever resists gets shot, whoever hides valuables gets shot, those that survive getting shot are fed to the dogs, the children are being sold into slavery, the rest are left to entertain your soldiers. It's pure fucking pragmatism. Killing and turning them into dog food gets you a reputation, selling slaves makes money and entertainment keeps the troops happy. That shit is thoroughly evil but also pragmatic.

Again, if i wasn't in charge of them i could see why the higher ups wouldn't be okay with that but according to that description i will be so there should be nothing stopping me.

Actually no, all the raiders in Fallout 3 are part of the generic "Raider" faction, and are all friendly to each other despite the fact that its stated several times they are separate clans.

Also, the various raider groups in NV are actuall various groups of tribals, and both the vipers and Jackals wear the same kinds of armors, and are friendly to each other, despite being hostile to each other in lore since they are simply marked as raiders in the game.

Super Mutants are organic, but are not only immune to radiation, they are healed by it similar to ghouls.

As for not eating or drinking, FEV can self replicate and repair DNA.

Super mutants are sterile becuase the FEV "repairs" what it sees as damaged DNA in thier sperm.

With the "idealized" from of FEV used by The Institute, its very likely any sort of bodily decay due to not eating or sleeping is instantly repaired by the FEV replicating more cells to take the place of the damaged ones.

They are most likely out healing their own bodily decay.

Still, as another anon pointed out, I'm essentially doing the same quest but for different factions. If only 80% of the questlines were unique quests, and 20% "do the same thing but for me". I always base my allegiance on what kind of character I'm playing as. If it's energy weapons, it's YesMan/NCR due to them not wiping out the Brotherhood. If it's explosives, it's whoever doesn't kill the Boomers which I think might be all but Caesar.

I've done a Caesar playthrough once and I was locked out of so much of the game it just feels pointless and not very fun to do another. If they added more content east of the river, I doubt that'd be the case.

The objectively best faction to experience the game through is the NCR. It's got the most content by far.

But really, I needed to experience the Legion at least once. Of course, this will be the first time as well I do all DLC, so may as well do it through the Legion's eyes. My build is Frumentarii, with heavy emphasis on Lockpicking (already at 100 in level 14) and Sneaking (around 90). Then Guns, and Survival and Barter. I reckon I should have gone for Speech considering a good Frumentarii should be able to talk his way around, but eh, I'll leave that for a Mr. House playthrough.

With medieval fantasy it's not that obvious because all the 1 handed attacks share the same animations and so do all 2 handed attacks. With guns you need totally different reloading, chambering, firing and even shouldering animations per weapon type. When a gun can't mechanically function it doesn't matter whether it's fiction or not. If the barrel looks a bit too thin for a very powerful cartridge i can excuse that, but when the charging handle is about 3 inches off the mag it shows an extreme lack of knowledge and attention to detail.

You could say the same for swords in Oblivion.
Pretty sure he means visually unique, and like in real life. All swords the same style of about the same length swing pretty much the same in real life, but the way two rifles reload can be completely different.
You cant even make the argument that it's just a game, most shooters that dont have goldeneye tier reloading have unique reloading and firing animations for each weapon. Especially games that use weapons based on real firearms that have distinctive reloads you'd recognize from movies and the news, like the HK slap.
