How do I "pressure" my opponent. It's pretty easy to mind read and punish bad moves in neutral once I figure out the unsafe ones, but I can't seem to keep anyone trapped in the corner.
On the other hand, I constantly find myself being pressured into the corner where I either down-back and die trying to get a good read or beat them before they get me. Either way, I don't make it out often.
Is there any kind of practice I can do for this?

They're all traveling to ranking events to get points. MOV got 128 points right now in this European ranking event. Xian went to Russia to get 128 points. Haitani is one of the best players because he has done well at Premier tournaments. However, he got the majority of his points from winning the Australian ranking event (all 4 asians got top 4), and by getting 2nd at this EU ranking event.

The problem is that the US frauds are getting so many points from these free ranking events that they will take up the capcom cup spots from the global leaderboards, allowing 2 other american frauds from the NA regional leaderboard to make capcom cup.

Japanese qualifying through American events is just proving that their region is fucked over. If you want to win an Asian ranking event in Japan, you have to go through the gauntlet of Japanese monsters. Just look at Daigo. He beat Nemo, MOV, and GO1 and still only got 32 points. Ranking events only have points and so they don't all make the trip. I think only Jiewa has traveled over the NA and LA ranking events. He got top 8 twice in those events. Characters play differently of course. Defense is harder because FD uses up meter, which also makes meter management more important. Anti-airs and throws are actually good. Game speed and progression is faster. GG places more emphasis on being able to make up combos on the go too so knowing how your character's normals and special moves interact with the combo system is more important. Honestly I've only played GG way more BB so this is just what I think are the main differences. Character play styles probably matter more than anything else if you want to choose between each game though.

I haven't bought Juri but I heard a fully charged v-skill builds as much v-meter as Necalli's and you can combo into it. You can also cancel it to end up in front of the enemy and you can store the charge to use later. Too early to call it weak IMO.

Yeah. A lot of moves have different properties on normal/counter hit, distance to the opponent, and if you're close to the corner. You'll figure out what to do most of the time after playing for a while but you'll still have to just make up combos sometimes with each character.

The story has to have fights because it's a fighting game's story, it would be like making a racing game, giving it a story but having almost no racing in it.
Part of the purpose of the story is to establish characters as being fighters and give the player a reason to care about them. Bonus if it gives the characters a reason to fight each other. But the Xrd characters sit around talking high school philosophy and metaphysics, all that I got from it is that characters would rather talk and not fight at all unless it's against Bedman. It's not like SF, Tekken or KoF where the characters are martial artists who fight each other all the time for no reason (see Laura challenging Ken for no reason at all in the story), in the GG universe it's like there is no reason at all someone like May would ever fight someone like Kum for example.
And the power level difference is also all sorts of ridiculous, Sol would just stomp almost every character in the cast, but this is just a nitpick. And I like the Xrd story, I'm just overly critical of it.

Of course that would be ideal. But the other end of the shit spectrum is at least more fun and makes more sense in regards to the game play you see. Look at Elphelt for example, why does she fight at all? All she does in Sign is shoot a few no names and in Revelator she is as canon as Evil Ryu, yet characters who actually have fights in the story (Gabriel for example) aren't playable. They waste their time setting up characters as being badass fighters that you can't play as (Gabriel, Ariels) and dismiss characters that they should at least have tried to make look cool since you actually play them (Jam is the worst offender).

I'd rather have fun watching the blunder god fuck everything up in MK9 causing a lot of fights and death than watch Chipp talk May out of suicide in a scene where ridiculous looking characters try to have a serious talk.

And I still like the Xrd story, specially for tying up most of the loose ends from the previous games. It's just that I felt like I watched an unrelated anime instead of the story of the game I'm playing.
