Well, everyone in 2012 hated them for good reason. Bad translations (some so bad to be unreadable), bad PR (and non-existent marketing, way worse than what they have now), and generally releasing really bad nukige; there was very little reason to like them.

They've gotten gud in recent years though. Doddler, Haro, and Kouryuu (among others) really tried their hardest to improve the company image from the inside and their employers were willing to listen to criticisms from the community. Their translations are good now too. And they've stepped up their game in regards to the titles they've released.

Not having the CEO calling everyone entitled faggots on Twitter probably helps.
