But its a BAD system. You hunt the same thing over and over for a chance at getting SOMETHING that you might or might not like. It demotivates you to hunt something else exactly because what you get from the GQs are always the best and you can keep hunting the same mon over and over to get it.

I did like some of the GQs, but I never played them in a farming kind of way, I got bored of hunting the same monster so I kept doing different GQs not for the gear but for the mons. Because that's what Monster Hunter is all about, hunting different mons for different stuff and to not get a stale game.

You know what GQs should have done? Randomize the monster at lvl 140. That would make it MUCH more fun.

GQs, even with the suggestions by many GQ supporters, end up overshadowing the monster based weapons on the simple scale of their maximum values alone.
Why would I make a Chammy GS when I could grind for a Poison relic with nearly the same, if not better, status? Why would I make a Chammy GS when I could give up ~30 points of Poison to gain much better base power and sharpness?

Sound like I'm making Relics sound OP? Well then let's flip it on its head then.

Why would I grind for a Poison Relic, when I could just hunt Chammy and make his GS? Why would I grind for a Raw relic when I can just make Akantor/Ukanlos/(other) weapons?

Everyone praises Relics as a great End Game option. But if they're simply better than forgeables, why ever try to build a forgeable once you have something "that works"? You can just use that "just works" weapon on the GQs until you get the Relic you've been wanting! Because that's how we've been playing this game up to that point. Starter gear only and never building stuff based off the monsters we kill.
And if there are Forgeables that are better than Relics, that means Relics are mediocre, and by definition not optimal (which tends to be what end game play is about, making the best and most powerful sets).
If Relics are straight up worse than Forgeables, then their place as an "End Game grind" is moot.

So Relics that are better than Forgeables break the gameflow from the entire game leading up to the End Game Relic Hunt. And relics that are worse than Forgeables aren't worth the time to hunt them in the End Game.

Relics. Have. No. Place. In. Monster Hunter.

Only 3 weapons got a big advantage with relics, and it was only mostly prevalent with GS which got only did 8% more damage than the leading forgeable (cera/rogue)

I actually like that relics made it so there was finally a reason to use an elemental or status weapon for many weapon types. Simply because they also had amazing raw and sharpness and just had that element and status on top.

Otherwise it's always the same story for weapons like Hammer and GS: Pick one of the very few top raw weapons, forgot all others.

I want styles to stay, arts can fuck off though. I just wish styles had some real variation to them, rather than removing one attack or whatever. Aerial is fine because it legit changes the playstyle, even if it isn't particularly good. Monsters need new attacks to deal with aerial stuff though, not just retarded hitboxes. Adept has potential, but I'd rather they just rework it entirely. Striker as well, it needs something more to stand out aside from slightly spammier arts.

Arts are lots of fun, but they don't really bring anything meaningful to a hunt, other than the simple fun and style factor. SA excluded, because arts turn it into a broken weapon. The idea behind styles is solid, but the implementation of them was lazy. They should change the playstyle of a weapon and keep things fresh. Unfortunately right now, we either have one broken style, or a bunch of meh options. They should all be viable by changing playstyle, not simply invalidate monsters completely.

it's just the worst of each world; you get the sharpness loss of DB, the slow movespeed of lance, you get a pain-in-the-ass mechanic that you need to stay on top of just so you don't deal subpar damage like bow, and to top it all off it takes forever to guard dick, you have a fraction of the mobility of any other weapon, and even when utilized perfectly the weapon still makes for the slowest kills

I thought it was a Peer to Peer network, but the monster is client sided. However if the host (the one with the quest, not the room host) is lagging like shit, then the monster teleports because of dropped packets.

I live in Australia and I've only encountered one teleporting monster and I'm Rank 60. I have noticed the lag where when I try to take Supplies there'll be a dely, but fighting is just fine.

I actually find the lag to be beneficial sometimes. If I try slash a tail or something and I miss, but a second after its tail goes down, on the hosts screen I'll have hit it, so it gets cut off even though on mine I missed it.
Likewise I'll slash a monsters tail just as it's flying up, on my screen I hit, but a second later as it just went out of range, its tail gets cut off and it drops down.

Dunno about Lance, but Adept GL doesn't need either. If your timing is good, you can save yourself from pretty much anything with the perfect guard. Also, you can chain multiple perfect guards one after another, so that deals with monsters with wind pressure and stuff.

Guard+ doesn't affect the perfect guard and evasion+ is kinda wasted with such a thing. Stack attack skills, and artillery to get a more comfy heat management.

If you have problem with mobility in online, I used Evade Extender to backhop towards enemies and, coupled with Blast Dash or Absolute Readiness (whatever is better for the occasion) I've been having no problems keeping up.

I soloed almost all of HR7 and it was all pretty alright, but I've seen that Nakarkos has a fuckton of HP.
