Haste rain is a supplement to Focus, not a replacement (not to mention Focus + Haste makes you belt shots out like crazy). I'd recommend dropping WE or Trueshot for Focus, and then you're basically using the Time Attack set that most Japs use.

Can someone explain to me how lance is suppose to be fun at all? I thought lance was suppose to be offensive...vs what? Large monsters only. This weapon is the least fun I've ever had in a MH game. I timed out fighting low rank rathalos because I can never fucking gets hit it. Any most terms that moves a lot just runs through you and too far for you to catch up. Hopping is useless because the mosterst run through you a drink far. The reach on its air poke is God awful and hardly reaches anything thato flies. This weapon feels absolutely awful vs any monester that's medium sized and moves aot. I've taken this rathalos down with every other slow weapon in 10 minstrel or less, but lance? Horrid damage because it can't fucking gets keep up with the moster.

Can someone explain to me why Focus isn't neccessary for a bow set anymore, and why I should go for TrueShot Up instead?

Let us go into stupid shit territory that is not Frontier or saying FU was difficult for good reasons and think of new territories that could be in the next game.


I was replaying this game called Xardion and this section got me thinking.

We already have dimensional traveling monsters, why not create a monster so large that buried itself into the Earth and is not only integrating itself into it (which makes it a threat since the larger it gets, the more of the planet it makes uninhabitable, but creates life on its body to disguise and to protect itself? The point being you have a specific area that looks like your average, peaceful grassy area. but anything and everything you think is a harvest node turns into monsters which try to kill you. The clam shaped rock nodes from article maps? The crystals are in its mouth and they shoot them at you. Mushrooms? They fly into the air and can rain various powders on you, both beneficial: (stamina and health, or harmful: poison, paralyze, and every blight.) Plants and trees? They all crawl or jump around trying to pin or knock you over. You could create variations from the various items you collect really.

After dealing with the outside, you also go into the monster itself fighting all sorts of giant parasites and bacteria creatures and if you hit sensitive spots of the monster, the whole map shakes and shifts similar to how the Wyvern nest areas in 4U could. Maybe have acid sections where it rises and sinks to reveal the weak points.

Focus isn't even there. There's two reasons. The first, is that if you can bushido evade often, focus is not needed. The second, is because there is NO feasible set that can contain both Load Up / True Shot Up / Normal Up + Focus. Essentially, Load Up / Trueshot is always exclusive with Focus.

And it also happens to be the case Load Up + Trueshot is better for the Teostra bow in terms of damage, even if you don't bushido evade often. Charge 2 then Powershot procs the benefit of Load Up (G Rank damage on a high rank weapon).

It's not that focus is bad, it's great. But there just happens to be a much better option for Teostra's bow.

If you ever want to play online then focus shoots to the top of the priority list because the monster is going to be attacking other people 75 percent of the time meaning you aren't going to get your constant max level charges.

Anyone with a good knowledge of how skills work in MHG want to throw in some tips?

My thought process is as follows:

Since bludgeon and airborne are skills that give you increased damage on certain things, I'm not sure what kind of damage I'm getting as a bonus for even having these sort of skills.

Is it worth pairing these skills with S+1or2 since HS doesn't have higher than low blue sharpness as base, or am I even better off ignoring S+1or2 for focus?

I haven't tested focus yet with Aerial GS so I'm not sure how fast the 3rd charge is in comparison with focus 3rd charge. I know it was reasonably faster to use in MH4U, but I'm quite sure that aerial style charges takes less time to charge compared to the other styles in MHG.

First: any other cool sets for low rank people? I just got into 3star quests using the BullJaggi set and I was wondering if there were more combos like that early on. This game is very overwhelming for new people. I'm working on some other sets like Bnahabra, just wanted to know of any good combinations

Second: anything I should prioritize on Palicos? I realized my couple has just hit lv 10 and I barely fiddled with them, just gave them some new skills a while ago and called it a day

This game is really fun, I wish I had played the franchise sooner. I'm asking about the armor combos mostly because it's more fun to play with an objective in mind (even though fighting that Bull over and over was really annoying, it's hard to keep track of him when he's charging everywhere and I don't have a second analong)

I used buja at first then made cenataur armor. Its not as good for dps, but less sharpening is always nice, and crits are fun. I used this until high rank where I made kut ku, which I ditched about an hour later after rushing to hr5 to get cenataur S. Used that for a very long time, hell I still do occasionally. I'm not rushing ahead to get deviant stuff though, so that makes a difference.

Bulljaggi can last you to mid-high rank easily if you play smart. Since its your first MonHun it might be hard, so if you want you can try getting the Rathalos full set, which gives nice attack skills.

Palicoes are a mixed bag. If you want to get good at reading enemy patterns and soloing them, they are a hindrance because the aggro ends up distributed between you three, and makes it hard to learn this stuff well. If you don't care for that and is aiming to play with others, it's not that big of a deal. But do try to play without them once in a while to learn how to solo monsters, it can be useful in a bunch of cases (I never cart in Hellblade hunts pretty much due to having soloed all my Glavenus hunts until then, it's useful to know how to counter his round slash and tail whiplash).

If you're using them for support, healing palicoes and support palicoes are useful. If you want a palico to use as a Prowler, there's a famous build going on that is pretty much the only one that can keep up with other hunters. Search the net for this build, but don't obsess over it. Try to learn the main game before going to these stuff.

Thanks for the info. Mainly i'm using HS for the a e s t h e t i c s, and without S+1 the blue is so low that 1 hit would be green.

With testing i've seen that focus has little to no change over charge speed and airborne is really nice on the 10% extra damage in air.

Next thing to find out is whether or not I can fit in AuM/L and CritDraw or possibly CritDraw&CritBoost. How much total damage is your crit with CritBoost? 1.3x damage? I've read some pretty mixed things.

Ok, I've had enough of watching people get swarmed with hate for using specific armor sets/weapon and style combinations. If you think about it, monster hunter doesnt need this kind of playerbase more than it needs a huge pool of happy and dedicated hunters.

Monster hunter at its core is a COOPERATIVE game, and its meant to be treated like one. If capcom were to introduce something like PvP and by the hairstrands of the desire sensore I hope they dont Players should be free to use whatever set of equips that they think looks cool or suits their taste of enjoyment.

I get that sometimes you find players with absolutely no clue what they're doing, or just use something that actually drops a burden on the group it goes too far, but even then just drop a tip or some advice, and if they dont listen then kick them.

All in all, the game should do what we paid our $40 bucks for; having fun. What do we like to do at the end of the day? Crafting the most "Top Tier" set of equipment and walk into the hall to show off how big your hot rajang dick is to everyone? No. We all bought this game to kill big ass monsters with giant fuckoff weapons or the leftover people who thought Dark Souls 3 was too easy

On most of the sheathes, one side is entirely exposed up to the end, so you actually could sheathe the longsword in them. You just have to pull the blade out a few inches and then you can slide it out.
