Because it looks so generic. It's just a grassy plain. 4U had a sandy island, desert caravan, mountain peaks gusting wind, and a cave full of magma. The only place as boring as Bherna in Gen is Kokoto, and even then it has the novelty of looking like it was ripped from a PS2 game.

How do I do the rank 3 "deliver 2 wyvern eggs" quest? The one with the Astalos in the way.

This is also my own opinion, but I fucking hate the Astalos- this edgy, mountain dew coloured, pro-mlg, competitive gaming, twitch streaming fucking mega-evolved Seregios.

I 200% agree with the preys vs the ggis'.

FUCK Genpreys, Iopreys, Velocipreys & Gianpreys- fuck um' all. They're awful, terrible, boring, uninspired and I hate having to deal with them. They just fucking suck and I would LOVE to see them "discontinued".

Jaggi's, Wroggies & Baggies are the same thing only done about 60-80% better. They even gave them that good "realistic dinosaur meat" so they don't look like shrink-wrapped anorexic low-poly horrors.

Khezu and Gigginox are in the exact same boat as well, but if anything it's even more frustrating because capcom REFUSES to use the BETTER monster and Khezu just keeps coming back again and AGAIN and AGAIN.

I'd also love to see Barioth and Barroth get more love again- it's fucking criminal that they're kept out of these new games.
I'm genuinely sick of Capcom having preference for "monster seniority" over "actually good and interesting monsters".

I'm seriously believing that 4 stuffed in some much shit from Gen 1 and 2 that Capcom's plan was to show how awful Freedom Unite is in comparison to 3 Ultimate and except for the super popular and flagship monsters, everything before Tri will hopefully be dumped or reworked in 5. And Swimming will be back along with maps that take advantage of the various underwater environments of the world.

Wrong. There are more guard levels than simply guard+1 and guard+2.
Or at least that's how it was in 4U. Red shield with Guard+2 wasn't enough to block a Tigrex roar without knockback/chip damage. You had to have the red shield, guard+2 AND do a guard point. But GPs got dumbed down in Gen.

Thats it. Just make sure to turn them in one at a time or else the max reward is lower. Done in a group it should only take about 60-90 seconds. Longer with shit coal rng. Selling excess ores/spheres/weapons should net you 25k zeny, possibly alot more.

When swimming, it will eventually stop by the water's edge and attack you with tentacles. Attack it enough while it's doing this, and it'll fall over into the stage helplessly. Attack the tips of its tentacles for massive damage. This is especially important if you don't want the first phase to drag on.

When it's all red and stuff, you can go ham on its face without having to break a tentacle(because it's not emitting the blue cloud). If the fight lasts long enough that it uses the death beam, you can tranq bomb it out of the attack.

You get more charms in the same amount of time by doing the sakura method, not this. Though it would be a good idea to get gathering skill either way. Cycling the quest in 60 seconds yields up to 12 charms in the rewards, versus 5+ minutes for a full clear with blue nodes and explorer.

No way is wrong, but sakura method is better from a time per charm standpoint. Sakura method is what /mhg/ has done everytime I've seen it.

Double monster arenas always leave me with an empty sense of deep insatisfaction when I clear them
Because due to how monster hunter is programmed it never feels like a feat of skill
It's more like you're deeply aware of how the RNG didn't fuck you over that one time, so it hardly feels like an accomplishment.

Entering the arena subjects you to RNG deciding which monster will notice you before you even throw a smoke bomb, many time happening for both monsters at once.
Nothing you can do about it.
The fence having a cooldown pretty much means that for a minute every 2 minutes your fight has to completely come to a halt, so you can run around and wait for the cooldown.

Then you have to wait for the RNG to place the two monsters on the opposite sides of the fence, be on the right switch at the time, and hit it.
And you can't stay on the switch because attack mechanics will make the monsters more likely to stalk the line and keep themselves on the same side.

Roaring, attack animations and monster cooldowns, are all clearly programmed thinking of a solo hunt.
Monster Hunter is painfully clearly NOT MADE for more than one monster at a time, yet they keep making arenas in which such a fact is made obvious.

Every single completion video that isn't a TA relies on smoke bombs, the fence, or other methods of SEPARATING the monsters, making it just a more painful solo hunt.

Dual monster arenas are no different from Apex shit.
It's not fun, it doesn't add "skill" needed, it only adds a "You can't play the game until this cooldown is over" element to the fight.

Double Rajang is actually easier than all the other final arenas.
Rajangs have as much health as a very fragile bulldrome, not to mention they hit eachother with their lasers.

They oughta make swimming optional. You don't want to fight monsters in the water? There are ways to lure every monster out of it. But if you run to a body of water you'll jump into it instead of hitting an invisible wall, and you can swim around and explore underwater as per usual. And if you DO want to fight in the water, you can.
