You want Focus on all bow sets, it cuts your charge time down significantly

After that you're gonna want "<shot> Up" for your bow's primary shot type (the level 3 shot, level 4 usually needs load up and it's often not worth it), it's a flat 10% damage modifier

Element and attack boosts are good, evasion skills aren't that great anymore because of adept, but conversely Peak Performance and Adrenaline are much more viable if you think you're good enough to use them.

There's some gimmick skills like Ammo Saver and Dead Eye but they're generally not worth it. I haven't tried the new skill that boosts power shots but it sounds like it could be really good.

Narga has 160 raw 40% affiity + crit eye 2 and weakness exploit = 110% affinity on weakspot.
Striker's Gunlance 220 raw 0% affinity + crit eye 2 and weakness exploit = 70% affinity on weakspot.

I have crit boost, so assuming ten hits to the weakspot:
Narga:
160*1.4*10 = 2240 damage
Striker's:
220*1.4*7+220*3=2816 damage

You'll definitely want one for each element. All raw ones are either bad or further in the game. Stamina management will bite you in the ass though so be careful about that hence why I mentioned Stam Recovery Up.

If you're looking for quick access to Focus, Redhelm Azuros's set gives it with the unique skill.

Rapid is the best shot type generally, followed by spread and lastly pierce

Spread is my favorite since no other weapon plays like it, and I personally hate pierce because it plays the same as pierce HBG but deals less damage over time

Heavy is the new shot type for bows, it shoots a fat arrow that does a little less damage than rapid but breaks parts faster

You can use a general purpose bow like Seregios or Garuga but typically element will work the best. The best bow in Gen is Teostra's which has no element.

Make sure the bows you craft let you use power coatings, bows without it deal way less damage

Its not that element is necessarily bad, but that Tesotra bow is so disgustingly overpowered that no other bow in the game comes close regardless of elemental weakness.

Well, Arts charge faster in Striker which is kind of the point.
Trans-Slash is great when you can land it. But I rarely can land the entire thing, it leaves you vulnerable and can even fuck up your Demon Riot rhythm.
It's up to you, really.

Personally I like it but I've been toying with the idea of using Absolute Evasion instead, as even hundreds of hours into the series I still can't dodge shit to save my life (and I often am in this situation) and a fast-recharging oh-shit-button sounds pretty nice considering I often find myself getting bitch-slapped in the middle of an animation.

Why is diablos gone? They recycled lots of quests for this one, they could have put the diablos quests in, too. Specifically I know they recycled a quest called Line in the Sand where you hunt two cephadromes at the dunes. I remember that one because I farmed it for fins in 4U. Striker in general is a stupid idea. It makes no sense and isn't balanced properly for any weapon.
Every striker weapon is either gimped to hell making it a straight downgrade from guild or it loses the most superficial of moves while gaining stupid MV making it a straight upgrade to guild. It's like they only had ideas for aerial and adept style but figured they needed a fourth filler style to pad things out so they shoved striker in.
