Last thread someone was asking about the point to large shield on Fiona.

Hammer Fiona benefits much less from the ability to counter vs sword, particularly because the shield enhance buff that improves the damage of counters isn't available to hammer. Hammer Fiona, as a result, uses counter very rarely, almost never. It's almost always better to simply instant guard ->3rd or 4th smash with Hammer than to use counter, so Hammer basically loses almost nothing for using a large shield over a small one.

What it gains in return is about 500-700 more defense, more crit resistance, and Iron Defense, which offers great synergy with slashing high spin2win. I think the taunt skill is also large shield-exclusive, and it can be really useful for stuff like herding Regina back to the safezone

Small shield hammer can use butterfly swing or stigma out of a perfect guard counter attack similarly to how small shield sword can do amaranth kick out of a perfect guard counter attack. Much better than just doing a perfect guard into butterfly swing because you get the sp from the counter attacks and the position readjustment if you need it. There's also LR out of a guard with smallshield which is often slept on. Obviously not good for dps but can be a big help with positioning.

Arisha isnt very fun to level but can be fun in lategame content. Her defense is very easy and she`s exceptionally safe, but there`s a lot going on with regards to her offense that can keep her interesting. She`s a good character to go with if you like active abilities but want something more in-your-face and actiony than staff evie.

Sylas is very boring, yes. He appeals to the kind of players that main support-classes in MMOs and MOBAs.

Delai is simple but methodical. There`s a lot of depth in her playstyle and she`s very rewarding to play if you enjoy challenging and higher skillcap playstyles, but the hit&run style and dependence on positioning would probably seem tedious to someone that just wants to get in there and smash things.

If you haven`t played since Arisha came out, most of the cast preceding her received revamps that changed them significantly.

The story missions take almost no time to clear, and later on bosses are all clumped in one map so you don't have a spaghetti of boats to pick from or waste time going back to town. The mobs are much less in quantity as well
