A lot of people just shrug it off and say Alphys was busy tending to the Amalgamates while you were murdering everyone, so she's unaware. I don't like that explanation but I understand why it's there for the game. You're free to change that, make her more fearful or vengeful or desperate for answers, have her little gauntlet of traps with Mettaton serve as a test to see how violent you'll get or if you've truly turned peaceful, something like that. Kinda hard to say without knowing your plans.

She's my favorite, I found her to be the best developed character of the cast, and I would still agree.

I like what interaction she has, and the different outcomes for the Mettaton segments, but she should have had different reactions depending on how much you killed. As it stands, you get the same reaction as a pacifist if you go through and kill everything until you get to MKid and spare him. That and there should have been more with her after the true lab, her interacting with the families and Undyne about her crimes.

But what can you do? Toby is a hack.

I just dislike about her what I like about Undyne. You can befriend her and still get a bad ending.

Like after the True lab, you literally can't back out of it.

You also only progress with her after a neutral end after you beat Asgore. Undyne can be done any time.

Not to say I didn't enjoy those parts, it's just becomes very linear

Yeah, True Lab -> Asriel skipping over so much stuff and just railroading you is one of my biggest problems with the TP ending.

You can still get a neutral ending after befriending Alphys by not going to the true lab right after her date, but there is basically no reason to do it. Which is a shame because it's actually a nice ending and does add more character to Alphys.
