We had an interesting discussion last night about the depravity of Flowey's murders and resets, among other characters. It got me thinking: Are there multiple timelines in the UT universe? Like, if Flowey or Frisk reload to their save, does that particular timeline continue on without them? Or is there just one timeline that is continually reset, and some characters can remember what happened before the reset?

It implies he didn't initially realize that these two things belonged to another person. How do you accidentally not realize you're in somebody else's soul? The same reason we were able to use Frisk's soul to reset without knowing he existed: you don't need to know. I very much think that Chara is the game's "protagonist" in that we play the game through his eyes. That's why the save file is named after him, why he's the "narrator" talking about his surroundings in an adventure game, and more importantly, why we never hear or read any of Frisk's dialogue/thoughts. Even when Frisk tells everyone his real name, we only learn about it from a monster responding to what he said.
