He then set out into the world to begin his journey as a Warrior of the Divines.

I don't know, your guess is as good as mine. I had this issue a lot when I was using CCO, the merge patch solved it for me. I've also seen it do this when your mods are incompatible or in the wrong order (at least I think that's what causes it).

Sorry, I can't help, maybe someone else will have an idea for you, but I think it's just your mod order/conflicting mods. But I would take a serious look at any mods that alter your items at all on a mass scale if you have them.

I'm working on finally reinstalling and remodding Skyrim and making a Dunmerfu who I hope isn't too much of a Mary Sue.

It's going well, but I've reached something of a sticking point - I'm not sure what combat overhaul I want. I've heard good things about both Ultimate Combat and Duel, and bad things. Stunlock in Duel, current bugginess and Draugr disarming issues in UC, stuff like that.

On top of that, I was fairly confident I wanted Ordinator over SPERG - but on second glance I'm not so sure, since most of Ordinator's perks seem to add new abilities.

I'm pretty much looking for arguments for Duel vs UC and Ordinator vs SPERG, though I don't mind being given alternatives for either pair.

Ultimate Combat is for if you want the combat and enemy behavior to be completely overhauled
Duel tweaks the mechanics and enemy AI for realism and difficulty, adding some things to AI. However Duel does have the issue of things possibly being unbalanced in favor of hard hitters. If you use Duel I'd highly recommend pairing it with Combat Evolved.
SPERG and Ordinator are similar in what they aim to achieve which is make perk trees for more interesting and meaningful. Of the two, SPERG is the least invasive and overhauls existing trees with some additions. Ordinator does the same but adds a metric fuck ton of new perks many allowing you to become pretty OP.

suffering. This colorful magic mod can be pretty brutal at times. Only managed to make it through Labyrinthian because of a glitch. Meaning the uber boss of aoe one shot got stuck in a corner and wouldn't attack and I got to throw spells at him for 10 minutes until he died.

Thanks for the input. My main worry about SPERG-Ordinator combined was compatibility with CACO, which I'll also be using because she's a spellsword/illusionist.
