I think it's about time everyone accepted that emulator is the superior platform for console speedrunning. After all speedrunning is going as fast as possible and the reduced load times on many emulators therefore quantitively make emu later superior.

Added benefits include wider accessibility (emulators can be ran region free for no cost above the price of personal computer) the hardware armsrace is an even field. Contrast that to finding specific models of console for faster loads or importing chinese laxatives.

Been trying to learn mario sunshine recently because it's my dream speedgame but my hands are retarded so the more complex movements are giving me trouble. In the meantime, I've seen a few runs of mario galaxy and it seems easier in terms of movement and I'm a lot more familiar with it, though the longer (near 3 hours) run length is dissuading me from trying to learn it.

Does anybody here run Mario Galaxy and would you recommend it?
