The PS2 and Wii weren't able to handle the full PS3/360 engine, so they outsourced Dimps (on a tight deadline and shoestring budget, as usual) to remake the levels. Mazuri (except the boss fight) and Empire City were completely scratched, the level design is worse for the aforementioned deadline/budget reasons, and there are a bunch of other changes. They honestly may as well be different games, like how Colors DS is different enough from Colors Wii.

I want Knuckles to have a diving-dig move that works on generic terrain wherever you want, instead of needing special breakable blocks placed just for him everywhere to make him feel special and useful compared to Tails.

What would make better villains for a Sonic game anyway? I've always thought that all of the Sonic games' story were meh at best and I'm just in it for gameplay and music. Eggnog does his job as a villain as good as Bowser, which isn't really much to begin with.

Since Eggman is basically one of the guys by this point in the series, having him be upstaged by a oneshot villain that isn't monster of the week could be interesting. Something that isn't the Snoozing Six and Nega

Bonus points if Eggman rags on them for going overboard like he did in the Adventure series with stuff like the city nuke / threatening to blow up the world / guns and hostages

By this point, stuff like the Emeralds would be common knowledge, and Eggman can't be the only super power of sorts within the world. Rogue GUN scientist or leader, or even a copy cat like Dave the Intern / Thunderbolt Society, though anything new runs the risk of Sonic fans hating new things and extra disdain for new characters

What do you guys think about sonic & the dark brotherhood a.k.a Sonic Mass Effect from Biowere?
Well, the plot & the idea of Sonic being a Shepard-like dude with "get all races together" was interesting, in my opinion, but welp, it is game about Sonic after all and there was not much running (except when enemy is trying to run away). Well, there was running when you needed to move in some locations but top down perspective didn't felt like Sonic was fast enough for it... Still the plot not so bad, and the cliffhanger in end felt right. So, what do you think anon? Do you consider sonic & the dark brotherhood like a canon Sonic gaem?

I have a couple of problems with good ol' ATS but the music is on point.

BTS HAS JAZZ IN LIKE EVERY OTHER LEVEL. I like Jazz but fucking hell.

Shame that Mania is going to cast a massive shadow over these. But in a way, fan projects like this and Taxman and Stealths and the romhacks lead up to Mania in a way.

To be fair, harder zones are objectively better because it makes it more rewarding to find ways to go fast. And at least it's not as bad as "spend half the level waiting for a slow set piece with no way of speeding it up" like Marble.

I consider it canon for my own purposes, but the story was set up to take place years after the "last" game, so it's not like it really matters. Only thing it effects then is some of the DEEPEST LORE like the Nocturnus being the Fourth Great Civilization. SEGA could use elements from its story again, though that's unlikely since it didn't sell too well and it was developed by filthy gaijin. The one place it'd really be useful is the comics, but that's not gonna happen for years lest Penders throw a fit. But Chronicles isn't off limits from the licensing department, so maybe Ian will fit some of the non-enchilada stuff in if he feels like it.

I like Marble more because you can skip most of those sections with running jumps. Labyrinth is worst,because it not only has marble's problem of tight spaces with no slopes. I think I've got over exposed to green hill, I liked starlight but its a bit on the bland side.

Marble has an interesting look, it also has two styles. Underground and surface. Its more to do with style desu. IT's also cool to dodge deathtraps in a lava dungeon.
