Not him, but it does make sense for it to increase. The problem is ensuring that rebels and the Taiping don't occur at the same time. Perhaps you could do a check to ensure that there are no active rebellions before the Taiping revolt actually begins, and when it begins (because it represents a major revolt itself) militancy in the remaining territories is significantly decreased, to prevent another rebellion happening simultaneously? The Taiping shouldn't be gimped, it should be possible for a rebel-wracked Qing to lose to them, but I don't think the AI (or the player for that matter) should have to deal with fighting rebels and the Taiping simultaneously if possible.
Also, what happens if anti-Manchu rebels win and break the nation? Will you have it so they install a new Han dynasty? Desu one of the biggest complaints about HPM, valid or not, is that it doesn't provide options for alternate but realistic historical options, and letting a new Chinese dynasty rise up would be a big step in the right direction.

I have more or less in mind how dismantlement would work AI-decision wise, but the unciv stuff is still in formation.
I will start with missionary decisions - an animist country can request a missionary from a GP, but that means giving that GP some influence in your country (they get close to sphering you) and it also means changing your religion permanently. In return, a country without literacy will have the missionaries develop that. There's always the chance that the missionaries are executed or killed during the process (there's already a vanilla event about that, but it would be linked only to this decision) and your pops would get militancy while the missionaries do their work. Non animist countries would also be able request missionaries and would get a bonus to research in exchange (maybe with the offset of temporarily being changed from their religion, as to convert the animist pops and actually represent missionary work) . The problem is limiting this so GPs don't get spammed with missionary requests from day one (obviously the decision would be limited to countries with sea access and maybe muslim countries wouldn't take it) . I'd also like if GPs could impose missionaries, but seeing as this would be only viable in a blanket (all uncivs at once) way I don't think it will work out.
A decision to send princes to be educated in Europe is also planned, with increase research, but at the offset of having the chance of the prince on return randomly changing your NV (so the decision would only be usable once you pick a NV). Most if not all the unciv-side decisions would require low infamy, as to provide a viable alternative to conquest for RP.
GPs being able to send guns/military missions is also something I want to do, I just need to think of a way to do it without being a blanket, for-all-uncivs in your sphere decision.

Focus trees are also cool, but they don't change when your ruling party changes, so you get democratic Russia purging the officers to root out Trotskyites or communist Germany trying to ally Nat. Spain.
Fronts are horrible because the AI doesn't know how to encircle anything, and if the enemy does get encircled the AI puts 50 divisions to guard the one province pocket. Also, if the front gets split into 2 new fronts, the AI puts all the divisions into one of the fronts and leaves the other one wide open. And the AI can't build divisions for shit so it gets curbstomped every game by the player.

Wagons west! About 10 years faster than I initially thought would be possible, although I did get a very large Taiping Rebellion which meant I was able to free many of the slaves, and I also blobbed aggressively into Japan which helps with literacy and intellectuals a bit.
Still 10-12 years later than used to be possible, but I'll take it. I got the shipwrecked sailors event in early 1886 which pushed this up a couple months, it if had triggered in ~1883 I probably could have westernized by 1885 which would have been neat. I got one in 1878 but I didn't think I'd be able to westernize before I lost to rebels, though I made a save in case I want to try it.
Other than getting luckier with modifiers and timing I'm really not sure that this could be done much faster, anybody have one better?

Kinda sucks, you play literally the first half of the game by watching the GPs sphere/annex everything around you so your territorial ambitions are limited to Tibet, Japan, and Korea as they're your puppets so the GPs can't touch them except Japan which the AI never messes with for some reason. I think this is a side effect of some of the tension events, there is one that I'm getting spammed with which reduces tension because Japan is an unciv but it increases MIL/CON in the region in question. This gets the region stuck in a loop where even though MIL is decreasing it keeps getting raised back up by the tension event (forcing the Japs to support their liberation movement which increases tension and then causes the event to fire), and these states have large Han minorities so that's where they spawned, the continent is most near 0 MIL.how bad am I cheating if I use "break" to trigger the Xinhai event, I was hoping these guys would spawn on the continent and work their way to the capital but they can't get there from Japan.

1. West Med vs. East Med, with theme of Roman revivalist Italians vs. unbroken ERE. Commie Sassanids play the role of Soviets. Pros: could be a fun mix of land war with making naval and air much more important; Cons: naval and air are broken, it will just be a plane spamfest like the Channel, and whoever wins the air battle wins the sea battle, and can spam naval invasions
2. Neo-Punic Wars, with the theme of an Italian WRE remnant vs. blobby Vandal state in Africa. Main theater is Spain. May also have post-Arab sized ERE remnant holding out against Sassies and/or barbar blob to the north. May make general theme of Roman remnants surviving against horrible odds.
3. 1600s/Thirty Years' War theme. Catholic League (Spain, Austria, Poland) vs. "Protestant" Union (France, Sweden, Ottomans). Russia and Britain as possible entrants - if one joins in, the other will join as the enemy to keep balance. Also good time for an Imjin war scenario and Mughals in Asia.
4. Arab invasion of Europe, with huge-ass Caliphate blob invading through Spain and the Balkans. Might make puppet Emirates for multiplayer.

I think the trick is to siege provinces, but not take them. All sieged provinces give a bit of warscore, but sieged colonies don't.
I remember this from trying to trigger Retreat from India, and event where the UK releases all their stuff in India. It only fired after they had 50 WE. I couldn't blockade or take their states, so I just parked one brigade over their provinces, and let their WE tick up.
It might not be the same for HPM, though. I did that inPDM

Oh I found what happened, in adding to flipping my wool province one or two of the big Indian wool provinces also got turned to tea. If just mine had gone that probably wouldn't have mattered a lot but by also removing the Indian ones global production went down by probably almost half, I'll need to reload to go see exactly how badly it got fucked up.

Obviously there are no wool provinces between Tibet and the US (besides Australia/NZ) so I didn't show that part of the world. The top wool producing province in the world used to be Darjeeling with ~1.4 million pops but now it's these three each with 400-500k. World production is around 10k, I'm resigning now to go see what production was six months ago before this happened.

Aha, in addition to Darjeeling which must have flipped a long time ago (probably one of the early "tea monopoly" events for UK), in the last year Punjab and Jessore, each with about 1.1 million pops, flipped from wool to tea, taking world production from 18k to 10k almost overnight (including when my province flipped, though I only produce ~700 wool due to my nonexistent tech)
Even at 18k world wool production literally every bit was getting bought, I'm not sure what HPM is going on about wool overproduction in the late-game, we're getting pretty close to the lategame and I imagine wool consumption will only go up as population increases and pop pay gets better. It'd be interesting to flip a bunch of provinces to wool and see just how high consumption is right now, though I'm not really invested enough to do the (simple) event modding to make it happen.

Yeah, I am. It's not that hard really, the UK starts with no artillery in India, you start with 8 generals and a couple of military reforms (one of them allowing you to build infantry), you have lots of mountains, they'll actually try to attack similar sized stacks in said mountains, you can mobilize, the modifier that allows you to mobilize also gives you some other good bonuses, the substates/Britain's European allies no longer attack you in this version, etc.
Just be sure you're using the right general in all battles, a lot of money left in case they successfully siege one of your provinces and always have a nearby stack when battles start. Always attack in plains and always defend in mountains, then you bring said nearby stack if/when things go rong with your ebin dice rolls.

I'm looking for a mod for CK2 that lets me do something to prisoners beyond release, banish, execute and change their accommodations.
Torture! on the workshop is very poorly done with typos and being able to infinity blind/castrate/etc.people.
Underhanded Tactics seems to be what I'm looking for but no word or not if it compatible with the latest version. I'm going to try it out and hope it is.
What does "torturemod" for CK2 in the archive add/do? Neither version comes with a readme. Does it work for the latest version?

Underhanded tactics seems to be working fine. The only problem I see is the "Rough Up" option doesn't have a range(?) like all the other interactions. I can do it to people to matter how far away they are.
