I'm looking at the formula for stat effects in SR and I'm still not sure how much ATK does. I know stats are important because they're the one thing the AI doesn't scale to match you in, but how much does it do exactly?

Yeah can miss some content, because the number of Presents is limited and you need them to get the max affection and their events in some characters, like Shizuka, she doesn't have much Friend Events, making it hard to raise her affection.
So just don't waste the presents in minor characters.
Everything else you can just do at any time, like I finished the game withouth rescuing Feliss because I didn't even know you could and missed a bunch of other shit and I could still just load the last save and do them all.

That 7k unit Kanami has 9 on all stats (except Negotiation and Construction) and the Sousou poison dagger.
Dropping the items that increase Negotiation and Construction is a huge pain in the ass, so I'm just slowly taking my time putting her at 9999 troops before stopping.
